I got my 2nd order of 3 titles (Panique, Tom Jones, La Verite). My big order of 10 titles is due via UPS on Tuesday.

They were pretty fast when I order the new cases for Man Who Fell to Earth,Chungking Express and the Last Emperor as well I bought Secret Sunshine without a booklet (it was new from B&N) and asked for a booklet which was also fast. The only other times I've dealt with them were the shop orders so I think it won't take long for you but that's just my experience with them.

Absolutely. Their customer service is a big part of why I'm such a loyal customer. Not only do they produce a fantastic product, but they bend over backwards to ensure that their customers are satisfied. I haven't had a lot of issues, but whenever I've communicated with them, without exception, they've moved quickly to make me happy.

Send an e-mail to orders@criterion.com, and cc mulvaney@criterion.com. This will garner the fastest response, and the one that helps you will shoot an interoffice message to the other. Give them a detailed description of what, specifically, needs replacing. Though it probably isn't necessary, if you can take a picture of your shipment displaying the damage, and add it as an attachment, go ahead and do so. Your order will be made whole.

So looking at the Criterion Channel and thinking of signing up but hell I know I should do it now instead of afterwards since the price would go up. It sucks I'll have to do it next year. As I can't do a monthly subscription at the moment and can only buy a few BDs at a time. I wish I had a million dollars so I can spend it on Criterions

You won't get charged until May, if that helps. The only charge is now is a temporary $1 charge.

I know but I'll want to keep so I'll have to wait a year. I was going to do FilmStruck but they ended too early it seemed.

Did criterion re-release all of the movies that came in combo packs as blu only releases?

The ones that have ran out of there print runs. Like Ace in the Hole and Red River.

Does Criterion produce the same amount for each movie in its print run or does it depend on the movie?

The only movie streaming service I have access to is Netflix, and I have not been able to find either to preview.
As you can see, my avatar is from the movie poster for Black Moon. It's a very fascinating movie in my opinion, one that I've never seen before anywhere. At the very least its worth a watch. Would you be able to find it in a library system near you? That's the best way to "try before you buy".

At this point, I wouldn't risk blind buying anything unless I've seen the film before and could see myself watching it more than once. With that said, check out your local library in SoCal and request a copy!

I assume early pre-order numbers determine the initial print run for most releases. Some special packaging -digipacks or the digibook or the Bergman set, might require a longer lead time and they'd have to rely on other numbers to guess the print run.

I haven't seen House, but I love Valerie and Her Week... and wasn't impressed by Black Moon, so definitely it's not a case of love one, love all.

Anybody know if there's going to be Blu-ray release of Häxan? I was planning on buying the DVD but then I saw that there was US Blu-ray listed here but it had no release date.

So far there is no news of any new restoration of Haxan, which can serve as a source for a good HD release.

I guess I'll get the DVD then. Is there any big differences between the Criterion and Tartan release?

Watched Carnival of Souls last night and I loved it. I thought it would be more of an interesting curiosity but it really set it hooks into me and even had some genuinely scary moments. One of the best things about the aftermath of these big sales is finding these types of gems that I normally wouldn't have bought. Really nice looking transfer, too.

I'm not so sure about that. There's this 2K DCP from Filminstitutet: https://www.filminstitutet.se/sv/se-...=2414&cityId=1

Here's a video they uploaded two years ago: https://vimeo.com/195769350

"2016 Swedish Film Institute tinted digital restoration, as yet unreleased on home video." Hmm, maybe I should wait a little bit longer. With my luck the Blu-ray is getting announced shortly after I've bought the DVD.
