This would be awesome. Have either Ivans or Nevsky received a new scan/restoration?

Joseph Losey's Mr. Klein (1976) is playing for two weeks in September at the Film Forum in New York, billed as a Rialto Pictures release. I don't see anyone but Criterion releasing this in the US.

It sounds like Criterion has the Pianist, so hopefully they release it within the next 12 months.

The DVD (now OOP) for it was rather poor, and I have no idea who has the rights to it now, but I hope one day it can get more recognition again.

Here's a trailer for it, but the video quality is not very good, and it's been Americanized with English narration

Thanks. I’ve heard of it, but never seen it. Looks great. I admire your self assurance regarding your favorite. I’ve been going to the movies and obsessing about film since the early 50s, but would be very hard pressed to pick a favorite. Looks like a candidate for screening at the Film Forum some day, not to mention induction into the Criterion Collection.
Regarding Ozu, I’ve always really loved TOKYO STORY. I gave copies of the Criterion discs to my two children, now approaching 50, several years ago at Christmas, mainly because of its strong messages regarding family. Both scoffed at it, never watched it, may have even tossed them into the recycling bin. I asked each only once if they had watched the film, and was basically laughed at each time, I know not why. My own personal WISCONSIN STORY. Never stop trying. Go Ozu!

I guess we won’t get Pirates...

But seriously I’d also love Blu-ray’s of Death and the Maiden and The Tenant and an upgrade for Knife in the Water. Heck I wish his last film would even get any kind of release in the US...

Polanski is a sensitive topic the past couple years I wonder if Criterion is kind of sitting on putting out new releases for awhile...

Don’t know if Frantic would be one they’d do but I’d buy it

Here's a classic movie from 1970 that I would love to see get a better 4K restoration on Blu-ray from Criterion: M*A*S*H.

I do wish Criterion would do something with Woody Allen. Much of His 90s output like Bullets Over Broadway, Deconstructing Harry, Everyone Says I Love You, Celebrity, Mighty Aphrodite... isn’t available as far as I know

I'm going to predict two westerns:

Winchester 73 and (The Naked Spur) Whoops meant Destry Rides Again.

It would be a struggle to add anything beyond a new transfer for any of those films. There would be no bonus features of any kind unless they managed to rustle up some Woody interviews covering those films. Also I doubt Woody would participate in any way with the production of the restorations. Furthermore I don't know how many actors would stick there neck out in the metoo era to provide any kind of interview about their involvement in said film.

Even if it was just a new transfer I'd buy it. But the odds seemed stacked against Criterion ever releasing a WA film on BR.
