I have Birth of a Nation, which I don't think I'll ever manage to top. Intolerance is on its way to me as we speak though.

Ha! No worries. I already have far too many DVDs collecting dust in my collection that I desperately want to upgrade to blu, at a minimum (4K or bust ). Donate that bad boy to the local library!

"Birth of a Nation" is my oldest as well. "A Trip to the Moon" (1902) is probably as old as you can go for a blu ray. Not sure what is available between those two, if anything.

There's actually a few more features on Blu-ray from 1915 and earlier...

In the Land of the Headhunters (1914) - Milestone
Fantomas (1913-1914) - Kino Lorber
Les Vampires (1915-1916) - Kino Lorber

Headhunters is alright, but the two Feuillade serials are fantastic and worth getting.

Also, the "Wizard of Oz" disc has the original version from 1910. It's basically a short, but it's almost as long as "Trip to the Moon". There's also 3 "Oz" movies from 1914 that are basically feature-length for the time. (Together, all four of them are still not quite as long as "Birth of a Nation".)

I ended up making one more order, picked up Che, Chronicle of a Summer, and War and Peace.

No email confirmations for either order yet, but my order status is active on their site.

Small haul this time, but couldn't resist using that $10 certificate from the Criterion Channel:

[Show spoiler]

Several that I might have bought were sold out, so was able to pick up a few that I'd been considering for a while.

Speaking of Dreyer's film it's really a shame Criterion couldn't release Day of Wraith for Halloween. I wonder who owns the rights to it here? The BFI release a few years back looked really good.
Such a haunting film and still has the most effective witch burning scene on film IMO.

Also, Flicker Alley recently released Fanchon the Cricket (1915). Great release for silent fans, features the amazing Mary Pickford.

Last year, I watched this film at the historic Detroit Film Theater, with an accompanying live choir performing the Voices of Light score. One of my most treasured cinematic experiences, it was truly amazing.

Agree with the original poster that everyone should grab the Criterion BD.

Are we going to see January's lineup today?

I have a feeling we will see the first 4K UHD releases under Criterion, with those titles being Roma and the Wong Kar Wai 4K restoration boxset.

If not UHD, here are my predictions:

Wong Kar Wai Box Set (if not Jan, then I can see it coming in Feb or March)
Roma
Crash

I had to grab Local Hero with one of my orders. I feel like I've been walking around a film festival, and this one film is generating substantial buzz.

Now, the waiting game begins.

My order yesterday seemed to go through fine, though there was an email about Criterion's technical difficulties. This morning, they announced the flash (crash) sale is being extended to 2:00 pm ET.

Passion of Joan of Arc I'll have to get a copy of (I only know it from snippets shown in Henry & June, iirc). I am a big King Vidor fan and hope someday they release The Crowd (1928).
