10%, of course, wishful thinking.

I agree their membership program can be frustrating sometimes. Especially how they run in store and online completely differently.

Last July, I went in with my Criterion list and a book of membership coupons I got in the mail, and I couldn't use any of them (I was also buying a hardcover book). I told the cashier I just wanted once in my life to use a BN coupon that they mailed to me. She gave me a knowing look, lol.

Anyone know if retailers like Best Buy and Amazon will price match the 50% prices? I saw last time they price matched the 50% prices, but can't remember from which sale.

Also, how does Barnes & Noble package and ship their items? I plan on getting 6 Criterions from them, so I'm not sure if I should make a single transaction or separate orders?

Amazon does not price match. Best Buy does not list BN as an online price match candidate, but since they do a brick and mortar business, you could call and I would think they'd match it.

Since replying to you, I read in the dedicated thread that the 10% member discount may have been rescinded for some/all items already "on sale" - which may impact Criterion titles.

See the OP, and various other posts throughout:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=329936

The days of coupons and "stacking" are long gone. B&N 50% event threads here would run well over 100 pages each sale - mostly due to endless complaints and success stories about using coupons, and requests for info on how to "beat the system." It all got a bit tiresome in the end. And then B&N stopped allowing coupons anyway (allegedly, at Criterion's request).

So I know it's been asked a million times but just to be sure, there is gonna be a B&N sale on the 10th? I just want to make sure so I don't waste a trip out.

Nobody knows yet, but I'm sure the answer will turn up here on the 10th.

One with a little bit of social finesse, maybe, but that's entirely too much to ask for.

It seems that Criterion themselves confirmed it will take place in "July." The date of the 10th came from a screenshot of an internal B&N system that an employee posted elsewhere a couple of weeks ago - and again seems to be accurate. Guess we'll all find out on Friday.

They might all come together, individually or somewhere in between

This is the reason you can’t really use a reshipper with them

Completely off topic but can't wait for Le Cercle Rouge to come back to Criterion once the StudioCanal 4K UHD comes out (Since Elephant Man got 4K UHD release first, and then Criterion announcement 2 months later). Saw this the first time last Christmas and it confused me because it was so slow. Now, I'm willing to give it a second try and I'm more excited and ready than ever to revisit this film.

StudioCanal, please announce the 4K soon! And, just for fun, if Criterion starts doing 4K UHD by any chance, I'm betting my money on Breathless as their first release for fun! My reasoning? Because it's Criterion's first title to go on 4K UHD by StudioCanal that they already have in print and something that Criterion probably would revisit (Although, I'm not too 100% sure lol)

Cool, thanks guys. I'll take the risk then! Though, I might call my store ahead of time before going just to be sure.

Kind of hope they don't announce La Cercle Rouge, because I just imported it a few days ago, a blind purchase.

There's this over from the Criterion subreddit.

“Le Cercle Rouge” was announced as receiving a 4k remaster but not explicitly an UHD.

For those who own the Rohmer Six Moral Tales BD, where are the 2K remasters sourced from? The old Potemkine set?
