I have a number of ones that I would list, but a lot of people already have. Out of the movies I have recently seen, probably the best scene audio wise was Alice falling down the hole in Alice in Wonderland. That was a real treat to listen to.

Another cool sonic treat was the trailer for District 9 on the Moon BD. It was only Dolby Digital, but the LFE was the most intense I have heard. Wow!!

The best sonic treat I heard was the included This Is It trailer in District 9 blu ray although it was lossy dolby 5.1

That trailer made me go and buy This Is It right away, which, by the way, is referance quality sound all the way.

Yep, you'll be checking your limbs for splinters and your couch for cannon balls.

M&C has in my mind the best sound design of any movie to date. It is the standard by which all other are judged. That said, I watched Percy Jackson this past weekend and that is also a reference quality sound experience, albeit not up to the standard of "The Reference".

You are so right. I was stunned when I heard this disc. With all the discs i've heard since then, I still say this is the reference disc.

I remember watching Master and Commander on DVD and one of the many scenes took place in the hull of the boat. You can hear crew moving about on the deck above. I literally paused the movie (two separate times) and went upstairs to see who was walking around my house...

I will never forget that. And if my memory serves me correctly, this movie won an Oscar for Sound Editing...

Best Sound Editing and Cinematography. Both are very well-deserved

Avatar does have very good audio quality, however.....I don't know...it seems a little.....gah it doesn't seem to be "WOW" but more "wow" (explosions are good, but not "holy shit" good). IMO Terminator 2 Skynet Edition seems to have more oomph than the Avatar audio.

Hulk (Ang Lee) is awesome.

The Matrix one's are excellent. (I really like 2001, UP and Batman (1989) due to Elfman's score. I'd really like to see Pee Wee's Big Adventure on Blu with a HD audio track as Elfman's score for that film is superb).
