As I said before and expected, same chassis:

Interesting the X800 is a fixed power cord and the 1000 is detachable.

Sony Corp have Special Love for their Mid to High End TV Base. Giving lots them Sony Ultra App. I believe when Sony saids, publishes "No DV for x800" that they mean it. For one... so mid to high end Sony TV owners won't buy x800 inadvertently(sp?). Again this is Sony Love for them.

The big question is will Sony show DV Love for Sony DV TV owners by coming out with a totally new model Blu Disc Player.

Hopefully the next new Sony Box will have VUDU App capable of UHD, 4K, DV, Atmos streaming to the AVR

DV...

Anyone having issues with their player locking up? I've had it happen when playing a regular bluray Gone in 60 Seconds and a few times when watching X-Men Apocalypse 4k. The player ends up resetting. I just got the player this Saturday and updated the firmware first thing.

Yes, just had my first lock up playing Deadpool the other night. 1st time since getting the player earlier this month. It wouldn't let me power it off. I had to unplug it. Played it a few times since without issues. FYI, I did temporarily stack my Xbox One S on top, which may have affected it.

I'd recommend doing a hard reset (unplug for a few mins), or do a reset through the settings menu.

What does the HDR "projector" setting on this player do? Something someone wrote in another thread made me think it might adjust for less brightness, which could be interesting on my pansy TV.

I've had no issues yet. And I actually watched half of my Gone in 60 seconds BD the other day. I had no issues with what I watched. I also use quick start mode with my x800. So far it has been rock solid.

There has to be a problem with Fox discs and this player. X-men, Deadpool and for me Assassin's Creed reported locking this player up.

You talking Blu-ray or UHD? Because there most certainly is a problem with Fox blu's on this player. Was discussed earlier in this thread.

It's likely an issue with certain Fox copy-protection schemes, won't effect every single disc. Still annoying though.

That's what I was told on the phone but I take everything with a grain of salt. Would be amazing if they resolve this with the next firmware update but I suspect it may take longer.

With my particular problem I talking UHD. I never had any issue with a Fox Blu-ray on this player.

I haven't had any issues since the day I bought this player last month, but this past week I started having some discs lock up on me. Phantasm III (Well Go) BD disc and Split BD ended up locking up on me in the last two days. I had to literally unplug the player to get this resolved. Do you guys think its the FW?

It seems like the 2 free UHD offer includes new releases so maybe I will grab some of the Spiderman 4Ks when they come out.

That's good news! Where did you see that they have added titles beyond the original 17?

I too would get the Spider-Mans if they are added.

Isn't Passengers their newest release? It's eligible.

I guess wait and see if Underworld Blood Wars will be on there next week.

Is there a current list?

I guess it's time I registered my player, but I was waiting because I was hoping that Spider-mans would come out before the June 30 deadline.
