Moar HDR colorz! I wonder how that translates in practice, I might give my TV another calibration run and see what happens.

What does the OLED thing mean? Just better handshaking with OLEDs or some other picture tweak?

I dunno, but the UB900 and X800 dont handshake with LG's very nice.

Maybe I'm not as uber picky as some individuals are, but I haven't seen any, at least what would construe as handshake issues, with my 2016 LG B6. Maybe older models.....

B6 is a different SoC than my E6.

The UB 900 would flash white static screens sometimes, or completely drop connection coming out of HDR. Coming out of apps, and HDR, the X800 would give me a long black screen, sometimes never coming back before I got the home menu. Since swapping to the 940E, ZERO issues.

Well that sucks. Funny how such small differences like that blow things up.

The European websites are not updated, but it's on their servers. Just updated my player as well.

G6 has been even worse than the E6 IIRC, which is odd.

My B6 absolutely hated handshaking with LG's own player, (LOL), but the Sony has been far less of an issue. I've only really seen it with one standard BD.

So there's no new OLED setting in the menus, like the ones for TVs and Projectors?

Updated just fine via usb. Not really sure what it changed, everything seems pretty much the same on a spot check. Maybe I'll notice later. It sadly wasn't a stealth DV update (I know, I know...)

I just received notification from Sony that my new X800 is on its way. I dropped it off last Friday at FedEx so that's not a bad turn around time at all. Hopefully, this one works better than the last one did.

Hmm, I haven't yet. Did you get an email they received the player? I didn't get that either but when I called they said they got it.

Weird. My E6 has had zero handshake issues.

I was downloading the update as I was typing this. I should have knocked on wood, because now I can't get anything but white static flashes; that's AFTER the update.
