For folks using URC remotes with RF base stations there is. You set up two virtual remotes on the wand and set the first remote to use IR blaster 1 and the second remote to use IR blaster 2. This would require placing IR blasters on the Sony's. May need to cover the Sony IR receiver as well, depends on where the base station is placed and how it is programed.
The OP is using Harmony and I have no idea of how it works and what its capabilities are. |

![]() ![]() That^ is actually a very good idea, I will make a black box out of black poster board that fits over the X800 and the BDPS3200 and just switch em out when I pop in a new disc. I gotta Old School it before spending a dime. Thanks! ![]() |

Sony doesn't have the option to change the IR codes on their newer players, unfortunately. What I do is probably the easiest thing to do: just pull out the power cord from the back of player you use the least until you need to use it. Then just unplug your primary player when you do. Fini....

And the old school thing with the cardboard did not work, I guess RF remotes have come a long ways over the years because I went as far as going out to my shop and I set a 4'x8' piece of plywood in front of my TV , all the electronics were covered and both Sony players worked just fine. The only thing that works is going into another room. So I just went ahead and bought this Wireless Remote Control Electrical Outlet Switch. Pic of my new XBR-65X900E , X-800 & S3200 are on the bottom shelf on the left. >> [Show spoiler]

The Sony players do not respond to RF, they are IR only. To keep the Sony from receiving any IR the sensor must be covered. On the X800 I had to place black vinyl tape over most of the Open/Close & Power Switch to keep it from working with the remote. The green power indicator was left exposed. The IR receiver is behind this switch, it is not in the place indicated in the manual.

BTW, I have owned Sony disc media players ~since the compact disc was invented in the early eighties. I had a Sony first generation CD "discman" and after buying and listening to my first few CDs throwing away my ~85 cassette tapes was pretty easy work. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Has anyone had any issues with this player where once it boots up to the UI and you insert a disc, the screen will go black not showing anything on the TV? I have to unplug the player and replug it in for it to work the second time around. I bought this back in March when it released and this just started happening recently.
I've updated to the latest firmware too and have checked my HDMI cable to the receiver. Last edited by CaptainZombie; 10-24-2017 at 01:50 PM. |

quick question, friends: am I better off letting this player upscale by 1080p blu-rays or letting my Vizio P75-c1 do the upscaling? thanks in advance!!

I have my Sony X-800 video output set to "Original Resolution" as I like the upscaling of my Samsung T.V. set best. But it may be the opposite on your case. |

thanks. I was having a crazy issue with a 1080p blu-ray. The picture looked like crap! I tried my ps3 and the tv upscaled the blu-ray beautifully. I went back to the Sony and tried both letting it upscale the blu-ray and letting the tv upscale the blu-ray and they BOTH looked TERRIBLE.
I did a factory reset on both my tv (Vizio P75-c1) and the Sony ubx-800, and finally, the picture on the upscaled blu-ray looked as good as the PS3. Interestingly enough, there was no difference in PQ between letting the ubx800 upscale the blu-ray or letting the Vizio TV do it. LOL. Thanks again!!! |

I would suggest that you do some testing for your own equipment:
