There will be buzz kills out of petty jealousy regarding any movie, or any topic in life for that matter, for example the latest I’ve heard about is some naval personnel (active and retired) nitpicking about the accuracy of the ribbons and medals on Iceman’s chest, in this heads-up I posted prior to the release of this trailer - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...l#post19970726

It's not much so far but with May 27 approaching fast it might take off eventually

SnakeEyes , I don’t think this will ruin the movie for anyone reading. So, do you recall seeing in the test screening you attended, (as it was quite gracious of the U.S. Navy to have even given permission for cameras to film in there in the first place, if the production desired it) any video inside the CDC on the TR?

Addendum for clarity to ^
Not the CDC associated with protecting against pathogens, e.g. - https://covid-19-therapeutics-locato...ub.arcgis.com/ , but rather this CDC - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...ion_center.jpg

Episode 2 | Stories from the very 1st TOPGUN Commanding Officer - YouTube
The higher to the moon and the lower to the ground and the faster to a shooting star we fly into the world of Maverick: Top Gun ... the better for all of them, and for all of us.

^ Bob, if you lived closer - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post20030217 , we could attend together , again (not that I would recommend this practice with regards to any movie, to anyone https://www.thewrap.com/spider-man-n...-alanis-video/.

As an aside, did you know – Volkswagen, yes Volkswagen, to the best of my knowledge, currently holds a majority share in Porsche, Audi, Scania, and also wholly owns Skoda Auto and the manufacturer of the super car in the right side of our driveway as seen in my motor car hyperlink. Oh, and also, in the grand scheme of things, owns the company that produces the motorcycle that Tom C. rides in real life - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ducati_Motor_Holding

I-Bar patrons attend movies too - https://www.navymwr.org/programs/mot...8-aadec78b09b7

Copy that, we care for all. We gave even Wabs, a heads-up as for a chance to get out his man cave and strut his stuff into movie history with this casting call for Top Gun: Maverick, which was purposely unidentified as such on Vivienne’s website at the time - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post15626221

I'm not sure what the TR is, but from what I remember the only part of anything like the "CDC" from the picture in that link, that I remember is towards the beginning of the movie a scene with Ed Harris.

Sorry for the shorthand confusion. TR stood for the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, which if you click on the bolded hyperlink, scrolling down and following my poor long arrow drawing, departed Coronado Bay to head out to sea.

Also, sometime later on in that thread I shared a pic (courtesy of a crew member) from onboard the carrier. I don’t recognize, for sure, the guy on the right though -

Humor we can all use sometimes.
When people are too serious that's when things go wrong.
Humans were not created to be too serious all the time.
Serious things like related to health, life, survival, ...require serious solutions.
Movies are not serious; they're entertaining.

USS Theodore Roosevelt ... (TR)

Not surprisingly, the cast of TG: M has given numerous well-deserved accolades to fighter pilots. Back in Coronado, something more under the radar was the fact that the Navy granted permission to use and modify the VRC-30 hangar and squadron space, a support squadron which is also worthy of recognition in war or peacetime (https://www.c2greyhound.com/index.php/rip )

on set in Nov. 2018 here – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post16121481 .
In the following post below that ^ by Staying Salty, something which many aviation enthusiasts are wondering about, since time was spent filming off the east coast on the carrier USS Lincoln back in 2018, and has remained uncertain to movie fans as nothing definitive has shown up in the trailers, is whether or not any footage of F-35s made the final cut of Top Gun: Maverick as many bloggers seem to either really admire, or dislike, that stealth fighter jet.

Anyway, since the Navy considers the F-35 to be its premiere multirole combat aircraft what do you think....at least a snippet in the movie showing carrier ops with F-35Cs…..or not?

^ Regardless, the local college kids during a field trip seem to have loved getting as close as possible to having flown and carrier landed one - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post19007544
