Look, I get what you’re saying. Most sensible and halfway intelligent people know the Chinese government is awful and treats their billion or so people in a crappy way.

But don’t try to bring Top Gun into this. Its a waste of time and people want to see this after 35 years.

And I’m not even that big of a fan of the original. I tried to watch it again last year and never finished. Hasn’t held up well for me.

Thank you for at least being a bit reasonable and taking into consideration what I'm trying to say. I still disagree that I should not bring the movie into it, because it has made itself a part of it by using the assistance of TenCent and censoring the flags of Taiwan and Japan. With that said, I can absolutely understand why people are raring to watch this movie. I was ecstatic when I saw the trailer. Unfortunately, I can't just sit idly by while people try to excuse their viewing as harmless. Can you understand that? I wish I could just be okay with people viewing it, but I can't.

Just look at the Pro China censorship they pulled on Tom's jacket. If they value the original or are simply decent human beings who care about human rights abuses, no one will touch this sequel with even a ten foot pole. I lost a bit of respect for Tom even allowing Tencent to be involved.

M:I 7 is scheduled for May next year. They're still filming it after a whole year which is crazy.
