Thinking about my pets, and their mortality. My animals are all older.

You know, seeing how anime got its own subforum here, I really hate how it is treated as some sort of holier than thou thing compared to other animation on the internet.

This morning I read about how my wife's uncle searched for info about how his brother died in the Korean War. Although tragic, the story was great.

My wife's dad won't talk much about what he experienced in that war, but opened up when I introduced him to our neighbour, who was Military Police. There was obvious great respect from our neighbour when my Pop spoke. That was a pretty special thing to see and hear and I'll never forget it.

Thank you to all of our Veterans!

How 'luck' comes to some people more than others and whether you always have it, or it sometimes just pops up for you and others.

Like, me trying to wing it never worked out but if somebody else tried it would have

I say Thank You to all veterans world wide !

in christmas 2010 I spend time with my step dad's father. He was a veteran of WWII - he opened up for the first of the events and things he'd done ( I was told about this later ) Stories were sad, about courage and 'brothers' lost ... the man passed away pretty soon after that.

to my step dad his father never spoke about war - but to me he did. I asked the right questions the right way. ( i am very interested in WWII.)

may he rest in peace.

Watching Man of Steel and wondering if Nerdkiller_loves_BD needs his eyes checked, never had any trouble whatsoever following Zack Snyder's action sequences.

Well, I don't have some image stabiliser neck like you. Maybe you should get that checked out.

Yeah, that sucks.

I like having him around and really wish he'd show some restraint. But then again...that's part of his appeal.
I'm gonna miss him.

Just got word from my urologist.....I have a large (6mm) kidney stone clinging to the upper area of my right kidney. There's no pain, yet. But, he assures me that there will be when it "drops".

I also currently have no health insurance. In my state, when you retire, you must wait 30+ months for Medicare to kick in. -sigh-
