I just got a wedding invitation from a friend I've known over 20 years. My problem i don't have any real nice dressy clothe. I was thinking maybe a nice pair of jeans and a button up long sleeve shirt. Not like i have any money to spend on that.

This is my first wedding I've been invited too. A bunch of my cousins got married over the years. But wasn't invited to any of those.

And also I don't drive. So I might need to ask another friend who's going if they can give me a ride there and back.

I understand money is tight, but since this is a friend you have known for 2 decades, I would dress up in a suit...that is a sign of respect and also, the ladies love a man in a suit, trust me!

Another thing, you will have to give a generous wedding gift, so do not forget about this also...I hope this is a close friend and not a fly by night kinda relationship...Not to make it rain even harder over there, but since you have known this dude for that long, you could be asked to attend his bachelor party, so that is another expense that you may have to take on too...

Yeah, need to contact a friend or 2 about a ride and hopefully, they will be sober...have fun!

It's probably too late to be included as a groomsman but you might want to hire a suit. You don't want to be the guy in jeans and a shirt!

My younger brother just called me from home, 4 hours away, complaining that the Xbox 360 was broken because it wouldn't play a DVD he was wanting to watch. I spent a few minutes troubleshooting it for him over the phone before asking him which movie it was, and immediately after he said "For Love of the Game," I knew he that had been trying to play one of my old HD-DVDs that I had stashed away upstairs since that movie isn't on Blu-ray yet. Good times.

If money is tight don't go all out on a suit but certainly don't go the jeans route. I love my jeans as much as the next guy but wedding attire they are not. Get yourself some cheap black slacks and a nice button up shirt and tie. This will do you for the wedding, any future weddings and job interviews. If money is super tight and going to be even more so with a gift hit up a local Salvation Army or Thrift Store, no one will know you bought nice used clothes it just might take a bit to swallow that pride.

Anyone here familiar with electrical wiring or have had a new house built? One of my soon-to-be-roommates called the power company who are supplying our house (which is newly built) and they said they don't have the meter in yet. We're supposed to move in on the 21st (which is specified in our lease and which we have already put down first month's rent, and not to mention, we start classes on the 23rd).

Is this something to be worried about?

Yeah....meter is what the power company uses to measure how much electricity you use. Don't think a final permit can be issued nor can electricity be turned on without it.

Well, hopefully they get that in. Already scheduled Time Warner to come in on the 23rd to install cable and internet. Plus, we kind of need a place to live to go to school (I only live an hour and a half away but my other two roommates are 8-9 hours away).

I went to the movies again, saw Lucy. While I was waiting in one of the lobbies I saw a man with his family come out of a theater. This guy was about 45-50 and wearing only a t-shirt, shoes, and boxer brief underwear. I was shocked that anyone would want to be seen in public in their underwear! I am really surprised at the lack of dress up at the movies. I'm not saying you have to wear church clothes, but underwear only?

Wow, that's ridiculous. Not gonna lie I would have thrown him out. I guess he was sticking to the "No shirt, no shoes" policy. Guess they should start including pants in that rule.

Then again, if it were a guy in his teens/20s and was in shape, I probably wouldn't complain. But that's just me, lol.
