The fact that there was no table or reservation at Olive Garden. So I just left and ate at Sonic, will do the carb loading for the marathon tomorrow after we go to El Paso.

Ew, Sonic. I worked there for about 3 and a half years.

Found out my dad has Cancer. It is not an aggressive cancer but he is no spring chicken either so things are probably going to go downhill over the next few years.

Thanks sk33tr. I haven't gone to see him because I find the whole situation depressing. I know I should go see him but I just can't pull myself to do it.

headphones: What guy?

Well I suck at most of these NES Classic games now, I was better at them when I was 7! Jeez, this is definitely sobering.

I'm also sad to hear about your Dad, Jett. I also agree with Blu Titan.

OT, my cousin finally got the truck he ordered some time ago and came by to pick me up. It's pretty fricken nice!
We ended up having a few brews and I bbq'd some steaks.
I just came back from getting coffee from Tim's and his truck is still in the driveway. I like that a lot!

The fact that I caused a minor incident this morning by accidentally overheating the egg pan while I was microwaving my oatmeal. Somehow the trip to the marathon expo got moved to 3, which gives me time to get all my usual Saturday stuff done before I have to leave. Still going to bed super early, don't want to be wiped for the big day tomorrow!

thinking about my youngest niece.

my sister and brother-in-law went out today and bought her, her first car. she turns 16 tomorrow.

all i can think about is how i hope she stays safe and doesn't let her friends talk her into anything stupid. but i have faith that she won't because she's very strong-willed and not easily talked into doing things she doesn't want to do.

but i guess i'm more worried about the other people on the road.....

I contacted him and introduced myself hoping to find out a little bit more about my grandfather. I wasn't looking to be embraced as a long lost relative, but the guy hasn't message me back after I told him how we were related. Note, he did respond to my first message when I said I was looking up information on a relative.

At first I was annoyed, but in the end, I have a family and wasn't necessarily looking to extend my current one. At least, I got to see pictures and know a little bit more than when I started.
I wrote him again and he actually did respond and apologized for not getting back to me.

Hopefully we can keep responding and he lets me know more things about my heritage.

How come if I actually go to the bank and deposit a check, the funds are available that very moment; but if I do a digital deposit via a smartphone app, it takes 3 business days for the funds to become available?

I just can't believe a $100 training program for 10ks is a thing, is it really that hard to find one yourself?

It's how they were designed back then. Limited lives, no saves, levels becoming impossibly hard for no reason. Plus a lot of games were ports of arcade versions, and the purpose of an arcade game is to eat as many of your quarters as possible. Best example is to play the NES version of Gauntlet, and then take a look at the arcade version.
