Idk, I'll never see endgame but time travel as a plot convenience would annoy me too. Back to the future does it well.

I prefer BTTF rules, except the part where old Biff travels to the wrong future, major gaff on their part but they probably just hoped people wouldn't notice they broke their own rules.

Well, like Gale and Zemeckis say, you can't do airtight time travel, you just have to develop your story's personal rules and stick to them. Endgame I thought was fine (if convoluted), and their "jab" at BttF was just a joke. One example of a film that did annoy me with "breaking their own time travel rules" though was Deja Vu with Denzel Washington.

Actually, the was covered in the FAQ

They purposely made sure Marty and Doc left the house when old Biff comes back, so time actually did change around them, but on the street they wouldn't have noticed. If for some reason they went back into the McFly house at that point, a different family would be living there.

But here's one-- what happens to the other Marty when he changes time? Like the one who grew up in the revised 1985 where his dad isn't a loser, or the one who kept getting kicked out of boarding schools that rich Biff pays for?

The purpose of that being included was out-served a long-ass time ago. It's no longer necessary, and it was never in the theatrical cut to begin with.

But that future that Biff returns to, cannot exist since Doc Brown in the alternate 1985 was committed to a mental hospital and they never would have went into the future in the 1st place. He would be traveling to a new 2015 and the original Marty and Doc can't possibly be there.

I imagine they'll have Bluray versions with the new 4k transfer... maybe?

The thing is I think MCU even messed it up as a plot convenience since they only selectively made it do certain things.

major Endgame spoilers:
[Show spoiler]
like why did some characters get saved by the time travel/multiverse stuff and yet others, say Black Widow stay killed with zero chance, she should be able to come back just like the other did like Gamora? How excatly did she get saved from the unsaveable pit but Black Widow didn't and "absolutely can't"????

But why would time only change *around* them though? What is protecting them from the ripple effect of old Biff changing the past? I mean, I guess you could argue that they're made of different atoms from the past, so they can't change along with the environment or something. LOL.

Well, in the first movie, we saw that other Marty (whose dad became a writer) jump into the DeLorean and go back to 1955 just like our Marty did at the start of the movie. In Part II, the other Marty is in Switzerland at the Boarding School you mentioned.

Do you mean what happens to them when they return?

Here's a dark idea: After the other Marty goes back to 1955, he is immediately shot and killed by Old Man Peabody.

I think what Endgame is introducing into the MCU is mutiverses. The past can't effect the present as it just creates a new time line.

[Show spoiler]The doesn't explain how old Captain America can appear in the 'present' If I were to hazard a guess, Peggy's mystery husband who was never shown IS Captain America.

Back to the Future's timeline is cleaner as it is one linear time line and the past effects the future.

Well they left Jennifer in the alternate Biff 1985, and she remembered everything when they changed it back and she was still where Marty left her asleep on the bench. Maybe once you're time displaced, you can't be affected by changes in the timeline?

Also what about older Doc in 1885? If Marty and younger 1955 Doc learned what happens to older doc getting shot, shouldn't older Doc remember this incident without Marty having to go back in time and warn him?

A 10/10 movie.
Legit I loved, absolutely LOVED that they went there in the story. Not because it's at all positive, welcome or novel (like seeing murder in film is for morbid folk) in this case to see such a thing. But because the dark aspect of it is so significant that a Hollywood studio didn't try 'shield' or weaken it's impact on the target audience by omitting it or skirting it in some way. This is mostly viewed as a family film, after all. And yet it went there for the integrity of the plot and characters.

It is my favorite moment. George goes from being a timid wallflower to the hero with one punch.

You guys better hurry and collect all these movies (and the rest when they come out) before they get banned for offending people.

[Show spoiler]It wasn't the same Gamora. That Gamora at the finale was from the past. She was brought to the present along with Thanos.
