Yeah, UPS lost my limited edition. Oh well, I'll get a refund from Amazon and order the regular set later when it's cheaper.

I’m a very patient person but I’m getting really annoyed that my Target preorder still shows no sign of shipping. Unfortunately I have to stick with them on this because I used a B1G1 50% off deal.

Just received my Amazon Limited Edition via UPS in the standard, thin, blue and white bubble envelope, crushed. What is wrong with people? Don't even have two brain cells to rub together?

For the interest of absolutely no one...

I've been tampering with my LG settings again and found HDR Picture Mode: Cinema Home (User). I obviously know bugger all about this stuff but I thought maybe it looked better than Cinema (User).

Here are the settings I have come up with for Cinema Home (User).

Comments welcome.

Boy this thread really has it all: packaging, the weird Gruv deal/glitch, early reviews, DNR, shipping updates, in-store drama, and now OLED opinions. BTTF has always United us!

4K discs are extremely sensitive. But it could also be the player. Try washing the disc.

Target has a habit of doing this on titles they sell on those promos. They are probably doing it on purpose hoping that people will cancel, especially since the item is available to buy today on their website. I'm concerned for my LOTR/Hobbit order.

It could also be that Target's logistics system is not that great. Their in-store inventory system is fantastic but they failed in Canada because they couldn't handle the logistics of simply stocking the stores. Just like early this year, Target was the last one to be stocked again.

For the record, it took three sets with disc mixing to have a complete set with only minor scratches. Hopefully it plays fine for me.

For a box set?). There as no damage I could see (only a slight crease in the slip box, but that was not shipping damage).
Universal just will not let this packaging die. It's pretty, but not functional. This is the second one in a row (after the Hitchcock set) where I get the set with the side bulging out because the sleeves are so tight that they couldn't even fit the discs IN the sleeves in the first place. They just slam the set into the slipcase, then the protruding disc(s) just push out the spine.

My copy of Frozen from the 4K Steelbook has lots small of radial scratches, then a massive scratch on it and it played just fine.

I was absolutely shocked. I've have 4K discs freeze because of a spec of dust.

Cinema is best for viewing in a dark room, and is what I use the majority of the time. Cinema Home is intended for use in bright rooms, and I find it to be too bright for my tastes. I also prefer Dynamic Tone Mapping Off.

Forgot to mention it earlier, but it is best to take Sharpening down to zero.

Any Canadians get the hoverboard edition from amazon.ca? It has been unavailable for a while, I wonder if they completely sold out a while ago and won't have anymore in stock. For a brief moment I saw it on sale for less than the regular 4k set.

I recommend against using “Cinema Home” unless you’re in a very bright room. It may look brighter with more “pop,” but from my understanding it’s sort of artificially boosting things and it definitely raises black levels a smidge.

Mine was out for delivery today. Just cancelled this morning. Took them quite sometime to deliver, I already received Steelbook yesterday.
