I will say as a whole, UHD BDs catalogs represent film much better than SDR BDs. Some of this is simply better mastering, but just as much or more is simply technological improvements capable of making an image more analog with more resolution, better encoding, wider gamut, 10 bit, and better range.

It’s all about trying to get as close as possible. SDR simply doesn’t allow you to get as close as HDR. It’s all about being used properly. Not saying it CAN’T be revisionist.

Because somehow, the limits of (potentially the lowest level depending on budget and location) technology at the time a movie was originally created means that the creator never would have wanted it to look different/better if they had the option, and as such, no one else should ever be able to see it look any differently than it did when they saw it on the most average theater projector of the time?

Nothing about shipping from Best Buy for me, ordered back in early August. I wonder if I should cancel the one I ordered since it isn't listed anymore?

Ever since they pulled the listing, I've wondered if I should have cancelled my order. Good to know it will be in some stores though in case something goes wrong with shipping so I can cancel and just go grab it in store.

Ordered mine on 8/7 and it "shipped" yesterday, which is to say it's going to sit in a warehouse for 5 days before UPS picks it up. I wouldn't worry if I were you. You'll probably get a shipping notice soon and end up getting yours a few days before I get mine.

It's still listed. Just add it to your cart from the search page. I did that a few weeks ago and it also shipped today.

So the vibe I'm getting is the 4k version dialed back on the color saturation than the 35th anniversary Blu-ray.
