I like the UK art better but the prices are miles better it has to be said

That cover really is comical. Makes me want to photoshop it with a comic voice bubble over him that says “...Sarah...?” All kidding aside, though, I saw this in the theater when it came out expecting a light adventure film and was totally traumatized by that opening sequence.

One thing I have never liked about Cliffhanger (despite always enjoying the film overall) is just how mean-spirited it feels. Anyone else feel that way about it? Agonizing slow-mo for every innocent person who dies, etc. I dunno, just always felt a bit needlessly sadistic in tone. But...I still like the movie.

Pretty sure that photo is in the first scene when Gabe 'loses her' and it's not in winter. Suns out guns out.

Now THIS is a catalog title worth getting excited about in 4K. This movie is spectacularly entertaining all the way through but hasn't had the recognition it deserves. It ranks right up there with Die Hard as a modern action classic IMO.

Would it be silly to expect a fresh scan for this new edition? Or would it be sillier NOT to expect one? lol. This film was made for 4K.

It's been so long since I watched the blu-ray. And now I'm glad about that! This has an "I got a feeling this one will be rewatch candy on 4K" vibe to it.

I feel the brutality comes from Renny Harlin producing, FWIW. Picture Die Hard 2 off the (Silver) leash, and you have Cliffhanger..
