It wasn't out of place at all, the whole scene was showcasing how Wendy couldn't look at Dan because his eyes remind her of Jack, so he used his Shine one last time to change his eyes. This is pretty well explained and is the proper end of that whole scene. Without that part, the entire added character development for Danny is lessened.

Picked up a digital code from someone for like $12, went to watch the DC..but no subtitles?!?

I wanted to watch it while the wife slept (She can sleep with the TV on but no sound)..but I guess it's not meant to be.

Can someone else confirm the no subtitles (for the DC) just to make sure I'm not just being dumb.

You should grab a good pair of bluetooth headphones. Similar issue in my house, though not because of a wife. The day I bought my sony WF-1000XM3 was one of the best things I ever did. Excellent sound quality and very good noise cancellation. 2 things I never believed would link together. Especially bluetooth ones.

I tried the headphones route, and never really worked. Just not really comfortable while I'm laying down, Especially if I fall asleep lol

I had a problem with that as well on Vudu. Thankfully, FandangoNow also has the director's cut included in the bonus features, which has subtitles.

Does FandangoNow also have Dolby Vision/Atmos? I noticed Vudu had no subtitles as well when I tried turning them on for a scene I didn't catch the dialogue for. It's kind of amazing how each streaming service has it's own unique problem with the director's cut of this movie (and many other movies of course) I try to defend streaming for certain things but it's mind-boggling how much they screw things up, there's just no quality control at all.

No DV on FN, Atmos I'm not sure. However, FN plays UHD a bit better than Vudu (and appears to have a higher bitrate). However, some UHD on FN has no HDR even (whereas other services have HDR and/or DV).

They don’t support Atmos either. Technically they support DTS-HD but only on certain devices. For example, on the Xbox One X you can watch some movies with DTS-HD but only on HD, not 4K of any kind. IMO Fandangonow is a mess and they’re really behind compared to the other streaming options.

I really wanted to watch the DC of this soon but between iTunes’ botched audio, Vudu’s low bitrate, and Fandangonow’s limitations, I think I’ll just wait for the blu-ray and watch it in 1080p with less-to-no compression artifacts and lossless Atmos. I already avoid streaming as much as possible and this is just another reason to keep doing that.

If you're not watching these movies in a fully equipped home theater with a Dolby Atmos and DTS:X setup, it wouldn't matter if any streaming services offer Dolby Atmos or not because, you wouldn't be able to utilize the audio on a cellphone, a laptop, a iPad or any other small potable device with only two miniature speakers anyway.

Ya. You can even do the Disc + Digital right now through Vudu to watch the DC now and get the 4K disc combo when it comes out. I just don’t like Vudu’s quality but it’s definitely there.

Same here, no brainer for me, grabbing the BD just to lay my hands on the DC...and now it looks as though "The Irishman" is forcing me to do the same lol (supposedly coming to BD but not UHD disk)...who'd of thunk it, I thought my Blu Ray purchasing days were long gone but here we are.
