I have my 3 CD set on the mail, it should take around 10 days to get to Spain. As good as it will sound I'm sure the 3 CD set will be only temporary as La La Land will most likely will end up releasing it as a two LP set. Yes, I'm an LP guy, Vinyl records played by a decent TT and with a tube Phono preamp is pure magic.

Received mine finally. This easily beats the Rhino 2-CD set from 2000. Mike Matessino did a fantastic job remastering and remixing this score. Leaving Home track sounds so good it will give you chills. A vinyl release with gatefold sleeve would've been great but this package is no slouch. Booklet included is real nice and having the original soundtrack release remastered on disc 3 is also cool.

Dont bet on it. Mike V from Lalaland has stated that sales for vinyl are very flat and coupled with high production costs, they're too risky for the company. Also, the ET vinyl sales were disappointing and stands to loose a bit of money on that release

What's the point of a vinyl release from a digital source master anyway?

It's like a 70mm film print from a digital intermediate. It's pointless....

I'm wondering when the (inevitable?) Director's Cut version may come to disk. I'm assuming that Warner must have scanned the extra footage when they did the new 4K scan. Of course, I could be wrong.

Always possible for a big movie like this, but also possible it never happens. Hard to say really. I prefer the theatrical anyway, but it would be nice to have both. Did Donner really say the "special edition" is his Director's Cut? I don't remember.

Usually the original cut negative is the theatrical version only because that's the movie as it was intended.

I don't think Warner touched the extra scenes at all for a 4K scan.

If they did you would have seen them at least as a special feature on the disc

I do.........and there are so many great ones out there. Try going to Mondo Tees.com and see some terrific soundtracks with terrific artwork. They have colored vinyl and some of the out of prints sell for big bucks on e-bay....

I do. Pulp Fiction soundtrack, The Crow, Grease, Flash Gordon and many others. Star wars trilogy if youre thinking orchestrated music only.

Only music I listen to, actually. My playlists are made of film scores only.

Not on vinyl of course, I don’t even have a deck to play them on

Everytime this thread gets bumped I expect sequel news and its all about soundtracks.

It died on the store shelf but not in our systems or the hearts of audiophiles. I still buy them and love listening at night before bed. Talk about being at peace. I have to admit I usually rip them and store away the cds but still consider that a physical media lover.

My guess for a Superman II 4k uhd would be this fall. It's coming but not as fast as we'd like.
