- 2008 version came from the same 35mm mag used for the 2001 DVD Isolated Score. It was a third-generation source. The master used was basically from digital files created in 2000 by Warner for the Special Edition DVD - 2019 version comes from the unearthed 1st-generation masters (2" 24-track) transferred in high resolution 192 khz/24 bit last year by Warner Sound. There's actually a 18 year span in technology between the two releases... And the analog source is the best possibile this time |

I think it's also a shame the sequels didn't get any isolated score. Both Superman and Back to the Future movies are the only ones I regret to this date the companies never made this possible. And if I am not mistaken you could even listen to individual tracks (extra material) in the old 2000 DVD release. To deny fans of that possibility is shameful since these scores are among the best ever created. It's a great experience listening to them while the movie is playing. As you can see below, it can be done. |

The one caveat to the above is that the few extras and source cues for the first film that are found on Disc 8 of that blue box, are now ported to the separate Superman II/III LaLa Land release. They are also now using the 1st gen sources, but the primary content for films II and III on that release is from the same source as the blu box. I love having the Luthor's Luau music to play, as well as a couple of the other cues there, but don't feel the need to buy the II/III release just to get those in better quality. For that material, the blue box is sufficient for me and I'm still glad I own it. For the first film, the new three disc release is a highly recommended upgrade. |

Since you managed to miss JP and 1941, just to be sure: Do you know that there is a huge box with the complete first 3 Harry Potter soundtracks available? Not to be missed for Williams fans. And also I recommend the complete "Dracula" released last year, and especially the complete "Close Encounters" also still available. |

Is it usual for moviemusic.com to have items listed as
"Not in Stock Real-time inventory system indicates this item is not currently available. Let us notify you when this item is back in stock." Should I wait or just order from another vendor? I'm inclined to wait as their shipping prices are extremely nice! |

But you keep bumping it up. Why is ok for you to do, but not anybody else? Especially, when they're sort of on topic.

Unfortunately Vudu only has the Atmos sound track, which is based on the remix they did for the Special Edition. The theatrical/original audio track (which is far superior IMO) can only be found on the UHD disc. |

That did it. Anyway, I already have the John Williams Potter collection, but thank you for the recommendation. I posted my small Intrada/La-La Land expanded/complete soundtrack collection a few pages back, if you're curious. |

HDR10, DV, doesn't matter. They're there.
But I watched it again about a week after that post you quoted and came away a bit happier with the presentation in general: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...5#post15983915 |

It's not "banding" I'm talking about though, but whacking great vertical columns that appear over the image. It's not DSE either, a user with a completely different TV to mine posted a photo which showed the same effect in the exact same place. I'd give up a body part if someone with the disc could cap that final sunrise shot (pref. right at the start of it) so I could show people what I mean.
