I took these from the BD last night. Since this is my favorite film I felt it warranted 102 captures and it's a beautiful transfer on both BD and UHD.

[Show spoiler]

The 2018 blu-ray included with the 4K edition has been reported to have blown out highlights as demonstrated in these posts:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=2175

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=1926

If you look at the sky in these screenshots, you will notice how the clouds have virtually all disappeared in the 2018 blu-ray. In the first comparison, even the helicopter blades are all but gone. Having all of that detail obliterated in the 2018 blu-ray is not something to brag about.

If I had to grasp at straws and say something nice about the remastered BD, it does look like watching a print, perhaps not one in a theatre with the most qualified projectionist but if you look at it as a novelty it's a fun bonus.

Best Buy has this down to $21.99, might be available in stores (isn't for me in my area), but it is available for shipping...though they're listing it not shipping & delivering until July 5-12.

But still, $21.99 isn't terrible considering WB kept it at 34.99 at release.

I'm glad I got mine this past weekend. It's no longer available at bestbuy.com. They are completely sold out. You can only do an in-store purchase.

Still available for shipping although its under the "getting more soon" tag, but that doesn't mean it's sold out?

It's crazy how indecisive and lazy people are when shopping. Not even an hour after we had opened this morning and I had already found a Incredibles 4K Steelbook thrown in the Anime section.

When you're about to buy a Pixar movie but you put it down and buy anime instead:

My sister abandons merchandise all over the place in the stores she frequents; she flat refuses to put things back where she found them- even when she is only inches away from the correct location. She just sets them down right where she is the instant she changes her mind. It is maddening to behold!

I have gotten onto her about it and she just shrugs it off. She feels that it is not her job to put things back correctly and that she is in fact providing job security for the retail clerks who have to clean-up after her. She does not care if other customers are unable to find an item because of her leaving the last one in the wrong location. She says that happens too rarely to be of any concern.

She does not leave perishable items to rot, but she will put any refrigerated item back into the nearest cooler, not the correct one.

If I am with her when she does this, I will put her discarded items back where they belong if I know where that happens to be. We don't always shop the same departments, so I am not always sure where everything goes.

She never had to work in retail, whereas I have in the distant past, and I can not get her to change. People rationalize what they do and they fiercely resist any attempts to modify their behavior.

It's crazy to my mind. Just today someone left a pair of sandals sitting on top of a loaf of bread at Walmart.

I've never worked retail, but I can well imagine how frustrating it gets when people just lay stuff where ever.

Is that how they treat their home?

I was picking up The Incredibles 4K today and I just happened to notice two copies of The Matrix 4K on the shelf for only $21.99. Suffice to say, I grabbed a copy and will be checking it out soon.

There are two types of people: people have worked a retail job, and people who haven't.

A lot of parents don't raise their children with any semblance of social responsibility or social graces these days.

I spent the entire day travelling to all the Best Buys in my area and I miss placed all the copies. I even took the slips off and hid those, driving from location to location I was laughing hysterically like a mad man while eating meat loaf sandwiches.

Keep in mind people that BestBuy.com will not show anything in stock if a store has less than 3 copies. When I went to pick up my Incredibles steelbook today, I had them check the inventory for The Matrix at that store and the other two in Wichita, and exactly 1 copy was in stock at the other two. I went on my lunch break and picked it up (and it rang up at the correct $21.99 price).

Might be worth it for those who still want it to have the store check the physical inventory *shrug*
