Glad they went with those covers to look more uniform. They should have fixed up Ghost Protocol with a color scheme though at least. Something like this...
[Show spoiler] Seeing as how they didn't put effort into GP's cover. I'm going to assume Rogue Nation's will be the generic poster. |

So, clearly the U.S. isn’t getting a box set until some time after Fallout, which is a bit ridiculous for a series like this... I’d much rather they just release these as a set with a slot for Fallout, similar to the James Bond BD set. However, I understand the studio’s decision here from a financial standpoint.
I saw some chatter about how Paramount did a similar thing with the Transformers UHDs, where the U.S. got stand-alones and the U.K. got a set. Do we think the U.K. will be getting one at the same time as these U.S. releases? |

If I were a betting man I'd put money on there being a UK boxset, but for whatever reasons our stuff never really gets publicised a great deal by the studios (press releases and whatnot) and the retailer listings go up comparatively late. We're a ways out yet.

Thank you! I mentioned this in a post while back. MI3 was 2 discs and the second disc had only features on the disc no film. I'm worried this set will not port over all the extras over. I'm still holding onto my set till this comes out as ill sell the rest of the set but keep MI3.

If there's no boxset here, I'll just wait for these to hit the 3 for $50 deal on amazon and pick all 5 up with another movie I have on my wishlist. I don't need them that urgently, unless Ghost Protocol gets shifting AR, which I would be surprised if it did.

I think these covers from M:I 1-4 suck! if in fact that's what they go with.
In each one with Cruise's big head they have a Tiny Tom in the corner, not to mention most of them his mouth is open and it looks as if he wants to eat himself. M:I-1 - I see you Tom Spider and I will eat you for lunch..... M-I-2 - You cannot getaway from me Tiny Tom. It's feeding time..... M-I-3 - Tiny Tom tries to avoid becoming dinner will he succeed? M-I-4 - Big Cruise seems to be full, but there's a Tom Fly on the wall..... |

You're going to be waiting a long time. This series will only end with Tom Cruise's actual death on-screen from one of his stunts.
I'm being facetious. A little. Tom will continue to make these films until he can no longer physically do so. Many people thought for a while that Jeremy Renner was being groomed to replace him, but he's nowhere to be found in Fallout, unless there's an uncredited cameo in the offing. |

![]() But anyways, I only have MI 4 and 5 since I really enjoyed those 2 (didn't care for 2 or 3), but I never got #1 since the blu-ray was supposed to be terrible, so I'm looking forward to this 4K release! |

The LD release has a much stronger and more natural low end with much more forceful LFE in the big action moments. It is this way on both ac3 and PCM matrix tracks. I wish to heck it had gotten a DTS LD release. From the non-anamorphic DVD onwards the audio has none of that low end and LFE in it. Which is weird because the letterbox first DVD uses the same LD master and has a 2.0 track alternative. I've done comparisons with every major release of the film because I'm a huge fan and none have the LD punch. Admittedly you won't notice it at first but if you toggle back and forth between the LD and any other version it becomes pretty obvious. The fish tank alone will prove it. I'm in for M:I 1 day one, and will wait for reviews on the others. If they're new transfers for 4K and BD then I'll pick them up when they drop in price a bit. I don't dislike any of the sequels but none are the mind game that 1 is-and that's exactly what the franchise should be. I would hope that if they keep doing sequels that TC's advancing age would force them to go back to less action and more mind games. I'll admit to being a super huge M:I 1 geek. I have every release (save for VHS), the score release, the single and the novelization. The latter is a nice little read with an extra tidbit or two of character motivation. I'm not saying I'm holding my breath on this, but the original release of III was on 2 BD-25s. It's possible Paramount is authoring a new BD-50 and putting the movie and extras on the same disc. That said, I don't think we should assume the number of discs is accurate until Paramount officially announces these.
