Btw you really should give Halloween II a chance, while not nearly as good as the original, it's a very good sequel nevertheless. |

Robocop yeah. Same with Barry Lyndon on Criterion. Gotta admit though. We are a rare breed. |

Can anyone confirm if the new Italian or French 4k release have the correct framing or if is just the same as the US & UK release. Also does any 4k release include the true mono audio track?

I saw this in the theatre last Halloween for it's 40th anniversary and they showed this new transfer. I also found it incredibly dark to where you couldn't even see certain things and bordered on black crush a lot of the time. One scene in particular is when Laurie is standing by the open room door scared and Michael's mask appears (or supposed to anyway which also happens to be in the Wallace house). It was so dark that you couldn't even really see Michael's mask but you heard the music the moment his mask was supposed to appear but without being able to see it it came off as really odd. I wasn't nuts about the framing either.

You only see a bit of his mask when he walks towards Laurie. When the music comes in, you see nothing much at all. Other scenes don't have this much darkness, even if set in the dark. But most scenes in the Wallace house are incredibly dark on my TV. |

As far as the shifting I can't recall exactly but the framing is tighter on the UHD. A good example is when PJ Soles reveals her chest. It crops some of it off to where you can't see much on the UHD compared to the blu ray. At least that's how it was in the theatre when I saw it. I've seen other members post about tighter framing as well.
