When people harp on about how HDR is revisionist filth I always think back to Halloween and how its look has changed again and again and again on home video over the last 20 years without any prior intervention from HDR

Well, nobody says it's the only revisionist filth.

Winky smiley face indeed, but to listen to some people go on about it you'd think it WAS the only revisionist game in town. Nah, never has been and never will be, just as long as those wacky humans are still in charge of grading these things then differences will abound.

I got a huge kick out of this. First time audience response, taken in 1979, during the re-release. What I'd give to experience this film for the first time again.https://www.screengeek.net/2019/10/1...eactions-1979/

Watching this tonight. It’s cold and rainy here, perfect time to watch this.

I just watched it last week and I'm already feel like watching it again. Probably will save it for October 31.

I’ll definitely watch it Halloween night. I’ll follow it up with the 2018. Tomorrow I’ll watch the sequels

I couldn't get into 2018 unfortunately. At some point during the film, I really started to dislike it.

It's the outstanding original, the very good Halloween II and the okay Halloween 4 and that's it for me. I also dig Zombie's 2007 remake when I'm in the mood.

It used to be Halloween night for me every year, until I started seeing it in the theater every year. Have for the last 5 years. Even caught it on 35mm a few years back. Now I watch Trick R Treat on Halloween night but I am excited to watch this new transfer again.

I've never watched Halloween on the night it self. My go to for the last several years has been Fright Night. I also have a blu-ray of Fright Night 2 that I watch the following night.

I watch Halloween several times a year (along with parts 2 and 4) but there's nothing like watching them on Halloween night. It just really adds to the experience. Fright Night is a great choice too! I watched that after my Halloweens last year on Halloween night.

I wish this season lasted longer. It's the best time for gaming and movies. Love the atmosphere.

Back to School ----> Black Friday is always my favorite time of the year. Just lets me sit in my house and entertain myself while the urban world gets much quieter. The grass is still green and the days are beautiful. up to 60 degrees during the day and down to 40 at night so you can sleep nice and cold all bundled up. It's like an Alaskan summer.

Criterion is the only transfer that looks correct.

I like HDR in just about everything I've watched. I really want to see Robocop 80s one AND some Friday the 13th 1-5 with HDR. There's plenty more I could come up with but those interest me at the moment. Halloween 1 is the only Halloween out of the whole series I like LOL!
