Fingers crossed.
Oh, please GOD let that be the case!

Does the US 4K and BD have burnt it subs for the Spanish parts, or only via a subtitle track?

The UHD included in the Australian edition is the US disc, Roadshow just imports a bunch of them without cases and puts them in their own packaging.

That's the best part of the movie though.

You make it sound like they jump on Amazon, and buy some 4K copies, and sell them without authorisation

Roadshow liaises directly with Lionsgate, and obtains the discs directly from them. Just so we're clear

Just realised there's another missing scene from the shorter cut - Rambo and Gabby coming out of the tunnels and briefly talking about what happened in the storm, and the people who died. Then Gabby suggests they go for a ride, and cut to the scene of them riding on horseback.

Would you happen to know if there are any trims made regarding violence in the shorter or longer cut?

Personally I'm not really interested in having the longer cut perse, I just don't want any cuts for violence. If both versions are exactly the same in that aspect, I think I'll just import the US disc.

Hahah, it's still importing a product. Just trying to make the distinction between porting the entire ISO image to their own locally manufactured disc - which they're doing now with their 4K Warner licenses - and it being the exact same disc you'd get in the US version

No violence cuts at all. Just dialogue.

Found another scene that was cut from the shorter cut: After Carmen takes Rambo in her car, the extended version has a scene between Hugo and Victor, in which they have an argument, and Victor says that he wanted to kill Rambo. That was one of the scenes I initially suspected might have been cut when we realised there were two different versions.

So that's four confirmed excisions so far:
- The opening storm sequence, followed by Rambo arriving at the ranch and talking to Maria about what happened.
- Rambo and Gabrielle talking about the dead hikers and the storm, right before going for a ride.
- The introductory villain scene at the Martinez brothers' house.
- Hugo and Victor having an argument right after their confrontation with Rambo.

Went ahead and pre-ordered the German 4K UHD.

..the artwork for the standard German 4K is really, really good. Better than the steelbook art, IMO.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how are you guys importing this? I've tried and they won't ship to the US when I do it via the links provided. Clearly I'm doing something wrong. Anyone mind providing guidance? I'd love to get the 101 minute version myself.

I live in Australia, so I just walked into the local shop

JB Hi-Fi ships internationally, try that.

If you give It some time, after release date, the Aussie edition will also eventually become availaible on every Amazon website.

Anyone have a link to what would be the *best* overseas version to get for those of us who want the 101 minute cut?

Or is the jury still out on what release that is?

Probably you should just wait a year or less till they re-release an extended cut in the US. We should learn from our mistakes by double and even triple dipping Rambo.

Jury’s out. We have to see if the German edition offers English subs. If so, it’ll be the clear winner. If not, anyone who doesn’t speak Spanish is screwed for 4K and the Australian 1080p Blu-ray is as good as it’ll get.

It's looking like the German release but the question is going to be what happens during the Spanish speaking moments.

I already bought the American release but I pre-ordered the German as a companion piece. It's not too expensive to import.
