I like both cuts, and watch them at different times. I do a "theatrical" run of the films, where I watch the theatrical cuts of all 4 Reeves films. Then at another time I'll do what I ended up calling the "father/son" trilogy, consisting of the Superman Expanded version (not the super long TV cut which I've never seen), the Donner Cut of Superman II, and Singer's Superman Returns.

It would be cool to get a 4K copy of Superman, even if it's just the one version, although it might be jarring going from that to the old Blu-Rays for the rest of the films. I might hold out for a new set.

I need it bad. I won't lie, the main reason I'm interested in the 4K release of Superman is because it gives me an idea as to how Warners will approach Batman (and hopefully the other films in the franchise) next year.

Next year is the anniversary so it’ll happen.

Absolutely. 30th anniversary of the film, 80th anniversary of the character. Warners even asked in a questionnaire recently if consumers would purchase 4K releases of Batman, Returns, and Forever (no mention of Batman & Robin, though).

You know, as dumb and campy as the Schumacher movies are, especially Batman & Robin, they're so over-the-top colorful in a bizarre acid trip kind of way that I could see them benefiting a lot from new 4K HDR transfers.

Maybe if Warner releases another Anthology set I'd take them. If they released the films one at a time, I'd probably end up with just the two Burton films, though.

I don't know if it's just down to me being blinded by nostalgia, but I do like Batman & Robin, warts and all. It looks and sounds great and Uma Thurman delivers an epic ham sandwich of a performance.

A 4K anthology would be delicious. The BD set was actually the second lot of Blu-rays I ever bought.

I would love to see Batman '89 on UHD BD. I recall seeing it opening night with some friends during my 11th grade year and how high the anticipation was for this movie. I eventually saw it again with family. Funny as everyone couldn't believe Michael Keaton was going to fill the role, but he pulled it off in his own way.

I would also buy Returns, but then it stops there for me unless we're talking some cheap boxset that seems to be happening more lately with catalog titles.

Batman & Robin is insanely fun, it would look spectacular on 4K. All those bright colors and textures.

Mind you, I never said it was good, just fun.

I think that's a good way of describing the film.

I think we're all forgetting an obvious one, because there's a certain iconic film that turns 80 years old in 2019

Apart from that I'd guess that the four Batman films, Godzilla (2014), Terminator: Salvation, The Hangover, The Polar Express, The Phantom of the Opera, The Green Mile, Eyes Wide Shut, The Iron Giant, Pokemon: The First Movie, Interview With The Vampire, Gremlins and Dial M For Murder are most likely to get 4K UHD releases in 2019 out of all the WB catalogue films hitting anniversaries in 2019. Especially since Godzilla and Terminator are getting sequels in 2019. Sherlock Holmes is also possible, but we almost certainly won't get that until the third film hits in 2020.

But I have yet to see WB do a branching UHD. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
I will hold out hope until we get the official announcement, but I am not too optimistic.
Warner did a branching UHD for Central Intelligence, but yeah it's rare.

Pretty sure Warner doesn't have Pokémon anymore. Viz released the most recent Blu-ray. I haven't watched it, but I'd be curious to see if the defunct "Kids WB!" logo appears on that Blu-ray.

Then there’s Reeve’s suddenly changing hair in he Jor-El scene after his first night...just not as strong of a film overall IMHO. Honestly, the extended cut is my LEAST favorite version. If I want a longer version just to have a version that’s longer, I’ll watch the super long version. If I want the best version as a film, and for the best pacing, I’ll choose the TC every time.
Points taken and I agree with some of it. I do like most of the additional scenes though in the longer cut. Of course, there is no reason that the UHD release shouldn’t have all cuts. There’s plenty of space so just give the people what we want.

Haven't seen the post either, however I did some digging:

- capedwonder The upcoming Superman-The Movie 4K theatrical cut is going to be great! Can you say “Dolby Atmos”? You'll have choices! That's all I can say for

It was a link to the capedwonder instagram page. That's where they confirmed Atmos. I'm assuming they weren't supposed to let that piece of information (or any, probably) out.
