They really would be pointless. You need to see the image moving and in HDR.

From what I have heard the image is a tad darker with a bit more spatial information (i.e. sharpness/detail) over the 1080p BD but the HDR is really what makes the image stand out.

It does, HDR, and I don't have Dolby Vision, just plain HDR10, I love how it looks, picture has more texture,more realistic colors, better contrast and shadow detail, for me it was worthy the money and you know what? I had NEVER SEEN GAME OF THRONES before, I blind bought it. Needless to say that after I saw season 1 on UHD BD I borrowed a friend's seasons 2-7. For me now Game Of Thrones is up there with Fringe.

Is there any news regarding future seasons? I remember reading that there was some news some of the seasons would be released before the end of the year, but no news after that?

I'm eager to see (and buy!) more Game Of Thrones on UHD BD. The later seasons should look much better than the first one which was shot on HD videotape, Sony's HDCam which is an obsolete format.

Wish the subsequent seasons would come out in 4K sooner.

It's a pretty good show, but not happy to be not watching Season 2 in 4K ATM.

Bit worried about HBO's history with releasing like this. Got "Sopranos"?... I hope they just commit to the rest when the final season is let loose on home video, in 4K! Even if this one does not meet their hopes for sales.

Waiting years, let alone something like 5 would be a downer.

No season two announcement for the holiday season is a bad sign. They should have been on pace to get them out every 2-3 months before the show ends.

Would be a shame if they don't release the other seasons on UHD. With the first season looking so great, despite the equipment used, there's no doubt the rest would have looked superb.

The loot train attack in season 7 could be an HDR showcase.
