eBay? eBay don't stock anything. Only sellers stock it and sell on eBay. Buy from Amazon or somewhere that you can buy at a good price.

eBay had some nice promotions lately, if all your music had it for sale along with that 20% discount on top, it would be a nice saving.

I am curious about the color timing of the 4K release....

Why do people keep saying it won’t look better than the BD? It’s as if nobody has seen HDR and WCG. The 35th anniversary would look great with the benefits of the UHD format.

Maybe more archival interviews, commercials for TV airings, the screenplay through BD-rom, interviews with more filmmakers inspired by the movie, any unreleased shorts from John Carpenter. Halloween needs an edition much like Criterion’s excellent release for Night of the Living Dead. Actually Criterion’s Halloween LaserDisc had a great commentary too with Carpenter, Debra Hill, and Jamie Lee Curtis (recorded separately), and it’s on Anchor Bay’s original 2007 Blu-ray. I would absolutely quadruple-dip on a Criterion Blu-ray edition of Halloween.
Aren't the rights holders to those outtakes asking for a silly amount of money? If there's one thing you can take to the bank it's that there never will be a definitive version of this film, not in terms of the extras or the look. I've already got a shedload of extras for this movie, don't need any more, certainly not a bunch of random filmmakers waffling about how great the movie is. I know it's great.

Decent 4K transfer with the true original mono audio and I'm golden. Anything more than that for this movie is ephemeral wank at this point.

That and it’s got far too bright and sunny a look for October in Illinois. The 35th (almost certainly the same master used to source this UHD edition), while having a fair amount of greenery, has an appropriately cold chill in the outdoor scenes, capturing the feeling of Halloween in IL very well. And being from the middle of the state, I can say that on Halloween day, there’s still a fair amount of green grass and quite a few green trees.
I totally agree about what the first Starz/Anchor Bay Blu-ray looked like; aside from the color temperature/timing issues mentioned, I didn't care for the excessive film grain in dark areas, and the whole thing just didn't look like what I was used to with the THX DVD. I know there's been a lot of discussion, nearly ad nauseum, about the filming of this title during summer in California and how filters had to be added to simulate the look of fall in Illinois -- let's not even get into the whole "I can still see that palm tree in the distance" error -- but I was definitely not happy with that first Blu release (even the uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio mix didn't sound any better to me than the already-excellent Dolby Digital track prepared by Chase for the remastered DVD).

Yeah, its rights issues and whatnot prevent a massive collection of everything IMO. I would think any big fan of the series would own the Scream Factory set though, which has two discs and tons of supplements. Just put this 4k disc in with that and boom, you have a very nice 3-disc set. That's what I'll be doing.

I done made my own 'ultimate editions' for several UHDs by taking the bonus discs from other editions and putting them in there, yep.

Lionsgate? Try Anchor Bay/Starz, they may be owned by Lionsgate now but that doesn’t mean AB has been completely gutted of employees by LG.

Same. It changes with every new release, so...this might be the 5th distinct look the film has had since 1999.

In all seriousness, this will probably look like the 35th release with all the zazz of 4K, but we'll see.

Back on Topic: This movie is going to look EPIC on 4K and one of the best films ever made!! Here's to hoping they do a boxset one day in 4K.

Viva Elite is the brand most studios use, so just look for that (as linked to above) and you're good to go. Thanks afr52!
