Here's a direct pic. I'm pretty sure from the curvature on the bottom that they're chipboard boxes. Of course I've seen tightly shrink-wrapped slips that give that appearance too but still. Almost positive that's chipboard.

I haven’t been checking up on this thread since I’m not into horror movies really. I did, however, purchase Halloween on 4k when it first came out.

What is the difference with this new one?

Again the art isn’t so bad knowing the original poster art is in inner cases (reversible) and would look cooler without that too banner for sure.

Very excited now.

This one has a new 4K scan from the negative (the old scan was from the interpositive), a new 7.1 Atmos track, OG mono audio (though a filtered track, the 2018 had altered moments and was a fold down from the 2018 7.1 track), the lionshare of bonus features (admittedly not all), several cuts of the film on the included blu-ray(s), and the slipbox with reversible OG art work on the amaray case.

That top grey border is so cheap looking. I know some hate the covers but they look a lot better if you remove that top border.

The new covers are complete dog s*#t with or without the grey border.

Think its just the seam of the shrink wrap making it look like slipcovers.

Maybe i'm in the minority, but i'm kinda hoping they are in fact just regular 4K slipcases. The slip boxes will just take up extra space on my storage cabinet. It also seems pointless to me, if they don't even come with a booklet, like their Creepshow release did.

No problem! It's still hard to tell but when I zoom in on the top of the picture, especially 4 and the right corner of III, it looks like that banner might be removable but I'm not positive.

Besides Elvira have there ever been any other releases in a chipboard case that didn't have a booklet? There must be but I can't think of any.

Hmmm You might be into something… looks like it could be a J-Card from back of case and folds over the top. If so that would be cool.

Looks like someone asked on the HighDefDigest Facebook page if that is a J-card or part of the actual artwork. no response yet

They look like side loading slip cases to my eyes just like Creepshow. There's no cut out on the bottoms.

Guys. It’s already been confirmed these releases will come in rigid slipbox. Much like Creepshow.

Only thing I dislike about SF releases are that they shrink wrap the slipcover which damages the corners.

Here's an enlarged close-up of the picture Hi Def Digest posted on their Facebook page. I hope this is OK to post.

The cases look like they might be plastic slipcases. I think it's the tight shrink wrap and the seems that are making them look like card board.

I keep all my slipcases. Despite the complaints, I think the art is better than some photoshopped floating heads we could have gotten.

I could give a shit about basic slipcovers. But these slipcases are nice and I keep them.
