Watched the extended cut yesterday evening. I liked it, on the whole. Btw, there are some seriously gruesome moments there.
Really loved the prologue, and all of the added scenes. They contribute to fleshing out the characters, as far as it is possible given the movie length. And there goes my main disappointment: what's with all the footage from the previous Rambo flicks in the end? I mean, we're talking 10 MINUTES there, for crying out loud. That means that the theatrical cut runs, what?, 80 minutes, if you take away the added/extended scenes and the older footage? That's almost the length of a TV series episode. I don't know, feels like something went wrong with this movie. But, as I've said, I did like it. Just makes you wonder how good it could've been with a few adjustments. |

Still, the point I was trying to make is that the extended cut of the movie is over at 1hr 31 minutes. The Theatrical is 10 minutes less. |

![]() I guess the "shock" I've experienced when I've realized that the movie was over, is due to the fact that I was actually expecting 100 minutes. I guess with it being "extended" and all that. Perhaps it's just the credits that got extended, after all ![]() |

Is the audio on the German UHD/4K extended edition any better than the US regular cut ? I believe the DTS-HD track on the Aussie BD is way better than the lacklustre US Atmos track.

The DTS HD MA 5.1 track is surprisingly very good and extremely well mixed. I also have both the US and German Atmos versions which I have not compared, but the DTS soundtrack is the one I prefer. It's a shame that this Atmos soundtrack wasn't as good as Rambo 4.

Just watched this and I have to say I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would. I like hard R, slasher Rambo.
