I'm hoping Lionsgate will release a 4K box set of the 5 films. I'm not really into buying them separately.

Watched the extended cut yesterday evening. I liked it, on the whole. Btw, there are some seriously gruesome moments there.
Really loved the prologue, and all of the added scenes. They contribute to fleshing out the characters, as far as it is possible given the movie length.

And there goes my main disappointment: what's with all the footage from the previous Rambo flicks in the end? I mean, we're talking 10 MINUTES there, for crying out loud. That means that the theatrical cut runs, what?, 80 minutes, if you take away the added/extended scenes and the older footage?
That's almost the length of a TV series episode.

I don't know, feels like something went wrong with this movie. But, as I've said, I did like it. Just makes you wonder how good it could've been with a few adjustments.

There is nowhere near 10 minutes of footage from the previous movies. It's easily less than a minute.

Nope. Three minutes of footage. Then, a handful of seconds of Sly riding away, and seven minutes of credits. I was 7 minutes short re: old footage, forgive my utter lack of accuracy.
Still, the point I was trying to make is that the extended cut of the movie is over at 1hr 31 minutes. The Theatrical is 10 minutes less.

Like I said, nowhere near 10 mins. I'm amazed there's 3 minutes. I watched this a few days ago and it certainly didnt seem like that. Perhaps I saw a different cut as there appears to be multiple versions and the one I have definitely does not have 3 minutes of footage from the previous movies.

Actually, it's footage from all of the Rambo movies, including Last Blood. Barely 3 minutes.

Yeah, I just couldn't believe that, with the player showing ten more minutes of playing time, the movie was actually over!
Kinda pi$$ed me off

Yeah long credits is weird for some movies that don't seem to warrant it. That Chris Hemsworth movie on Netflix Extraction has 15 minutes of credits.

You should never watch the "Lord of the Rings" Extended Editions. AFAIR the end credits and fan credits run for about 20-25 minutes.

You don't think everyone should be credited for contributing to the movie?

When it gets beyond any category that can get an Academy award? The could at least use smaller font, and fill the screen with multiple columns :P And go faster...

Yeah, but at least that's on par with those movies humongous length. But... seven minutes credits slapped on a 90 minutes movie? Come on
I guess the "shock" I've experienced when I've realized that the movie was over, is due to the fact that I was actually expecting 100 minutes. I guess with it being "extended" and all that. Perhaps it's just the credits that got extended, after all

Is the audio on the German UHD/4K extended edition any better than the US regular cut ? I believe the DTS-HD track on the Aussie BD is way better than the lacklustre US Atmos track.

The DTS HD MA 5.1 track is surprisingly very good and extremely well mixed. I also have both the US and German Atmos versions which I have not compared, but the DTS soundtrack is the one I prefer. It's a shame that this Atmos soundtrack wasn't as good as Rambo 4.

Just watched this and I have to say I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would. I like hard R, slasher Rambo. Much better than a 2.5 rating received. Cartoonish and over-the-top gore? Yeah, which should automatically give it another two stars.
