Amazon is now telling me that I will be getting my copy on November 23rd. What the heck?!

From the initial reviews coming in, the picture quality has been positive and it will most likely be the definitive source used for future releases (I highly doubt an 8K or higher scan of the OCN is going to bring out any more detail from a 43 year old film). Shout Factory has also done a great job compiling as much of the bonus material that they could get their hands on (with exception to a few missing items that had licensing issues) and stuff it onto this release. Unless they want to hire someone to raid the vaults and find more material (lost footage) and better sources (OCN reels for the extended edition found in 1999) and restore them then they are at an impasse.

The audio is the logical item to tackle the next go round. It's doubtful they will do it unless more people raise the complaint of them using the same old inferior sources for the original mono mix and the Atmos mix. Between the two, it would be easier and affordable to restore the original mono mix. Creating a brand new Atmos mix using the multitrack tapes would be a laborious effort, you would be looking at a months worth of work to successfully do this and that's a lot of money. An A/D transfer of the mono master tape would take less than a day to do and no further tweaks would be required. The rest is all marketing and gravy.

Lol wow, he’s also selling a copy of the classic, seminal film, “Beauty and the Briefcase” for a total of $33. He no doubt picked it up for $1 from one of his Dollar Tree “hunts.” I mean, sure dude… get that money. But there’s something about him being a YouTuber and also a flipper/scalper that rubs me the wrong way.

Same here. I ordered the three vinyl bundles. If I hadn’t ordered those, I’d probably attempt to cancel and go to Best Buy.

I'll be happy with Halloween 6 and H20 in 4K, then I'm out. The only way you can get me into Resurrection or the Zombie movies are through new bonus features or having both cuts of each Zombie movie and all deleted scenes in full HD.

Back to pre-order on the website but some physical locations have it on the shelves. Just the first movie for the most part what I'm seeing. Shout had a delay in manufacturing with 2-3-4-5 I believe which is what caused the delay but part 1 is out there.

My deep hope for H20 is to have an new audio track with Ottman's score used in the final audio mix. It's a weird score and I'd be curious to see it fully utilized. Not just an isolated score, but a full mix.

Those are my two reasonings.

I'd say original audio too. Though I can't quite claim that as I've never listened to the countless other audio tracks that have been filtered/unfiltered, down-folded, etc. So I wouldn't know any better distinguishing differences.

To me and what I have heard, this original mono is second to the LD Criterion mono. Meaning it's the best we'll get next to that release. Correct?

Watched my copy last night I picked up from BB. Usually I would have watched this Halloween night but couldn't wait this year. I had updated my Panasonic UB820 fir.ware and had no issues with flickering. BTW I did pop.in my Lionsgare disc after and there's weird flickering in the beginning of that disc. Didn't seem like colors strayed to far from the prior release but there was better color saturation overall this time around. Solid disc.
