Looks like amazon.de or any of the current sellers will ship here to the states. Is there another venue to get the german copy shipped to the states?

Wonder if it's just the European opening cut back in or if it's more involved. Stallone's cuts of Rambo and Expendables did nothing for me though, honestly. So I'm not that excited.

Yeah, it's been on Amazon for months. I wonder if Apple made a deal with him for extra promo, though...as all indications are that they need viewers!

...But Quibi needs them more!

Stallone also mentioned in the comments that he is working on a Director's Cut of ROCKY IV ..? !!!

I was more interested in sharing Sly’s thoughts on the extended cut, rather than the Apple TV news, since people seem to be so split on which version is best

Why? 4k are region free.
It's already for sale overseas.

Lionsgate isn't going to put another companies disc in their own packaging unless they worked on it with them (i.e. StudioCanal). They will still have to author a new disc even if most of the work is already done.

There’s more stuff added than just the opening sequence, there’s about 4 minutes of added scenes throughout the rest of the film:

It’s the only cut I’d watch now personally. I understand that many people don’t find the storm sequence to be necessary, but I really like it, and in particular the conversation scene afterwards in the farmhouse. But the other additions throughout the rest of the film also help to improve it IMO.

I’m guessing it is safe to say the extended cut on Apple TV is in HD only since it is listed as an extra?

Unfortunately this seems to be the case. It doesn't kick in HDR or Dolby Vision.

Ok, so I just watched the extended cut on Amazon, now if I want to buy that cut, I should try to buy the German 4K UHD? I have been reading though this thread, and reading all different issues with different discs, cuts, audio, etc and cannot figure it all out... The Amazon version added the opening rescue scene and the table sit down scene, if I get the German 4K disc somehow (Amazon would not ship to me) will I get this version? I see there is a Steelbook version on eBay US that lists it at 99 min from Italy, is that different?

After waiting for a price-drop, I have just ordered the German Blu disc - which is the same version as contained on the German 4K edition. It has the opening rescue in it, along with all scenes which relate directly to it and a few other extended sequences. It's the longest copy there is, and comes with a Dolby Atmos track, and English subtitles for the Spanish dialogue.

At the current price, it's a steal. If Amazon Germany will let you get it. I'm in the UK, placing the order very late Tuesday night, and will be arriving on Monday. When they do ship, you can set your watch by them.
