Saw this movie in the theater 43 years ago, the shout nailed it.

I had preordered just the basic five movie + posters set and still have yet to receive a shipping notice. Is this the case for anyone else?

All you have to do is look at how bright the new version is which in no way reflects the intended atmosphere.
I saw the LG version available at my local FYE for only $10 (brand new with slip). I’m debating whether to just pick it up or get the Shout. I’ve heard a few others leaning towards the LG.

It’s really how you prefer how to watch this movie. My consensus is that no one know really knows what they want and are either chasing a unicorn, or just love to *****.

Just got a shipping notice for a package arriving tomorrow that is 7lbs. I'm not expecting anything else so I'm hoping it's from Shout...

A manufacturer should stand behind their products. Every time I buy a new office chair or shelf or anything like that, the first thing I see is a piece of paper that says if anything is damaged or missing, call the manufacturer for replacement parts.

And Criterion was happy to send me a replacement disc for an older disc that failed, even though it wasn't bought from them. So obviously some companies still know how to treat a customer.

Can you share that experience? I was only 8 and not allowed to see it. I have to assume since it was really the first of its kind, people had to be screaming.

It seems like Shout is giving everyone with scratched discs or a defective set, the middle finger. (unless you purchased from them directly)
Yeah because if you bought from them directly, you're not even getting any discs! Hahaha. I pre-ordered 3 months ago and my order is still listed as "order taken", though the individual discs in the detail view say "processing".. maybe that means something will happen soon?

Listening to the new PodCast Ep of Criterion Now and they have the gentlemen from DEAF CROCODILE and they are discussing their 4K restoration of ASSULT ON PRECINCT 13, but stated they would not be releasing the 4K edition It would be Shout Factory who has the licensing.

UGH Prob a great restoration with Shouts Encoding / Compression

If you want better picture and sound, TV version and a lot of extras get the shout. If not get the LG.

I will add they just mentioned they have no idea when SHOUT/SCREAM will announce the release so it's not officially announced. (Before someone scrambles to create a thread for it - ) It could be a while

For mediamail the tracking can be even worse… sometimes not one single scan shows up until it hits your destination facility.

So there is hope. Fingers crossed!
I ordered Halloween 1-5 UHD's, Alone in the Dark, and Elvira's Haunted Hills from DiabolikDVD on July 7th. I got a shipping notification email from them October 1st. I just checked the tracking info and it still says the same thing after almost a week... "Shipping label created, USPS awaiting package". Sigh. Hopefully there is some movement soon.
