Not in H1. She definitely thought he was dead.

As for why she didn't leave with them, I can only assume she didn't want to leave the scene of the crime because of some moral obligation.

Thanks, found the blue tinge there kind of striking given its absence from the other versions I've seen. But then that residential area really evokes that Haddonfield after dark, skulking around the old Myers place mood The Dean might be going for again. I guess both of the '18 steelbooks are a tad cooler, but that probably wouldn't account for all of it in that shot.

Her leg was messed up from the fall.

Oh I agree what you said. The 4k discs and blurays are often a load of rubbish.

I always answer these types of questions with the same answer. If they did do that (insert what ever scenario would be logical) then it wouldn't be a movie.

I don’t buy that at all. If she knew Myers was alive there’s no way she would’ve had her back to him like that. She clearly thought he was dead.

So the movie had to be the way it is no matter what? If she had gone with the kids it could’ve been written that Myers followed her and a similar climax could’ve happened on the street instead of the house.

Correct, she did have her back to him like that. Clearly it's a movie because that's the way it was written.

Yeah I always assumed she had her back to him because she thought he was dead. I mean, she literally says it to Tommy and Lindsey right before he attacks her in the closet.

"I killed him."
"You can't kill the boogeyman-AHHHHH"
(and they see that he's very much still alive)

However, what really bothers me the most about the scenes in the Doyle house is how Laurie keeps THROWING AWAY THE F*CKING KNIFE. Like...girl. Wtf is wrong with you?? Keep that shit on you are you insane?

But yeah she clearly thought she killed him multiple times, even after she survives the closet attack she throws the goddamn knife under the bed.

It just wasn't written that way. If Michael didn't escape, if Laurie didn't drop off the keys, if Annie didn't get stuck in the window, if Bob didn't get the beer...

She throws the knife away on both occasions because she doesn't realise she's in a movie and neither knows nor cares that there is an audience watching and desperate to feel better about themselves by being angry at her for not anticipating the horror movie trope of a seemingly unkillable man.

This. I actually think they even mention this on one of the commentaries?

JLC remarked that people watching it on TV can't appreciate the disgust on her face each time at the blood stained blade - no doubt the one used on her friends and which she is forced later to take another person's life with.

LOL well obviously. It's not like Halloween breaks the fourth wall.

Her being disgusted by the knife makes more sense.

Valid points. I can definitely see the disgust on her face when she throws the knife under the bed. Even the way she holds it. Her hands barely touch it. She is holding it between her wrists.
