This is 100% not correct. People aren’t anti slipcover. This all got started because the poster said people who throw away slip covers are crazy. I called him out and told him that people who return movies with a bent slipcover are crazy.

99% of the population doesn’t care about slips and it’s annoying to read these threads where people talk about it since it doesn’t effect the movie. Y’all are the crazy cat people.

No one wants to answer I guess. Even the reviews don't talk about it.

Because it was answered about 10 times already. The Bluray included is old master aka MPEG2 and DD5.1

'Ghost Protocol' looks absolutely insane. One of Paramount's best.

I'll say this about them (Paramount), they may cause anxiety in terms of how they handle their catalog titles, never knowing if you're going to get something like the first MI, for example, or something like 'Grease'--but as far as their new releases go, they absolutely, undeniably, hang with the Big S on this format.

I agree with all of that. Though I thought Ghost In The Shell was rather underwhelming aside from the story aspect. I was expecting to be wowed by the 4K and I was just as underwhelmed with it as I was with the overall movie. It was a shame, as it was one of my most highly anticipated movies coming out on 4K for me. I guess every studio has their occasional dud 4K wise. Except Sony of course.

It's really not fair to criticize the studio for the look that the director wanted for their film, though.

While the HDR was mild, the encode of GITS itself, was still really solid from start to finish.

That beginning shot of Major having the plastic sheet pulled away from her face could've been real 4K it was so crisp; that disc doesn't have the most insane HDR but it's a fantastic upscale.

Yeah, I'm in similar situation. The $19.96 price point on the individual releases for 4 & 5 keep tempting me. I intend to watch the whole series again before the new film hits theaters next month. Then I saw the $30 iTunes deal yesterday and almost jumped on it before realizing I already own these in iTunes. I checked last night, and despite these not being listed in my 4K library in the Apple TV app, each title played in 4K with the DV badge displayed on my LG OLED. That should get me by until I can pick up all the individual releases on sale or import the UK box set at a cheaper price. I try to keep from paying more than $10-12 for catalog UHD titles (so far I've been mostly successful).

So I guess this review was wrong about the picture quality of "Ghost Protocol" then. Good to know.

Paramount killed it with these discs! I really, really hope this is more of a reflection of what's to come with future catalog titles from them.

Plus you can clearly see which film stock was used in certain shots, before people again raving on: Fake added grain, DNR, where's my grain? EASTMAN vs Kodak Vision stock.

I've watched 2 and 5 so far and have been REALLY happy with them.

Here's hoping they do an equally impressive job with The Godfather and -if they make it to the format- Star Trek flicks.

Finished up 1,2,3 and Paramount slayed these releases. Consistent across the board. Those blacks levels and rich color had me giddy

My plan is to delay watching these until we are moved in and settled into house (moving this weekend). We will still have same tv, but we should have the x700 and some new sound to enjoy. It won't be our theater room (yet), but it should be better than my onkyo box theater sound... it has served us great, but time to step up our game! (Klipsch sound, yamaha receiver, should be much better) ... plus of course, that dolby vision deliciousness!!!
