Not even in my top 50.

I really really regret selling my Ultimate Edition DVD. Stupid early days of BD when I automatically assumed the Blu-ray was always a *replacement*. Though to be fair, this was my only particularly big mistake in that regard.

I never parted with my Ultimate Edition DVD set. Even after getting the Italian 4K box set, i'm still hanging onto the Ultimate Edition release, as I know we'll eventually get something better than the Italian set.

I’ve actually considered just getting the DVD set while I wait for a new edition if we’re really in it for the long haul like some think. The individual Japanese Blu-rays can be bought for about US $35-40 per disc on Amazon.co.jp, which isn’t much more than Criterion or Twilight Time, but I’m not spending that kind of money on one film unless it’s a definitive release.

Except Twilight Time has their limited edition crap thing.

Oh, I get it now. You don't want him to die, it's just that if he suddenly keels over, you'll get that movie you like. Sorry I jumped to conclusions.

Diabolik has a few copies of the 4K 6-disc Italian set back in stock. I had purchased the German 4-disc set a few months back and was sorely disappointed in its A/V quality -- the European (Argento) cut was the only cut that looked decent. For anyone that has this set, how is the quality of the included Blu-rays?

Rubinstein's daughter possesses an Ivy League education and is a Rockefeller by marriage. She seems to be deeply involved in a number of professional and personal endeavors, both on her own and through the Rockefeller family. The status of her father's film / TV assets aren't likely to be a high priority for her.

They’re trying, but Rubinstein is still living in fantasyland.

i just ordered dawn of the dead-germany-with 4 blu rays-theatrical cut extended cut-the european cut and the 156 minute cut.the box looks exactly like the dvd box set i have-the ultimate edition set.i have the blu ray -starz that came out years ago-i have the 156 minute version on dvd-yes i know it is not authorized-just a fan version-i have 2 german steelbook dvd sets each with 2 dvd's in them.but until i accidentally found this 4 disc blu ray-all region -i never knew it existed-any one out there have it? hope it's good.gotta be way more watchable than the bootleg vhs tape i bought in 1980 before a legit one hit the stores

And that'd still just be wishful thinking.

When it comes to film rights, I don't think I've ever heard the word "estate" in a positive context.

Like this set of Army of Darkness? Worth every penny but then I got it when it came out. For a German set, this truly is the nuts!

TBF, probably most estates that have rights just sell rights and release them and thus none of us ever hears a word about it.

It's the Susan Harts of the world that give them a bad name! And Russ Meyer.

From the screenshots available on Caps-A-Holic, it doesn't look that good at all. Especially compared to the Anchor Bay blu.

The Theatrical Cut and Extended Cannes Cut look awful. The corrected version of the Argento cut is ok, nothing spectacular.

So, how many years does Rubinstein need to pass by with NO takers at his asking price before he lowers it to something reasonable? Sheesh! It's already the 40th anniversary of the film this year.

Universal is putting out their Creature films in 3D, there's still *some* market for 3D Blu even if its not as large as a few years back.

I'm watching the Extended Cut and...it's clear as day that this is a rush job of an edit quickly assembled for Cannes, especially with how weird and poorly constructed the music cue transitions are.

The theatrical cut is definitely far more polished, though the loss of the Joe Pilito cameo is felt.

Well, given that Pilato's performance in Day is so over the top it can be seen from space I'm not sorry about him being removed from Dawn. I don't mean that in a snarky way as I've grown to love how batshit insane Rhodes is, I mean that he gives us so much goodness to chew on in Day that losing him in Dawn in a very minor role doesn't bother me at all.

That reminds me, I've still got the old Anchor Bay "Theatrical Cut" DVD which mistakenly left in the Joe Pilato scene!

Really, you think the Joe Pilato scene adds something to the film? I've seen both cuts a dozen times and I can't for the life of me see what it adds.
