I know that I have read things where people claim Romero did a longer cut that he preferred, but producers made him cut it down. I'm not sure what the source is on the claim, and my understanding is that it's considered "lost". But I'm really drawing a blank at what sort of news about "Martin" would warrant a separate announcement, a pre-release cut is the only thing I can think of. I don't think it's very likely, but they've really piqued my curiosity (and I was already ready to buy it).

The George A. Romero Foundation did successfully get his lost film The Amusement Park put together, and in a condition fit for exhibition. Expect a release announcement for that sometime this year (hopefully). Last edited by JohnCarpenterLives; 03-13-2020 at 06:07 PM. |

Severin confirmed on their facebook a few minutes ago via the comments section, that they will not be in any way, connected to or doing a US version of these releases. It's a bummer for sure but fortunately the 4K will be region free.

So my question is, if Rubenstein wanted a million dollars for the rights, would it be worth it? It seems like this is going to sell like hot cakes, so you would think that in the long run, a label would make their money back and then some.

I'm sure he wanted more than a million dollars.

I dont think it is a matter of money. A company supposedly met his asking price and he walked away on the day the contracts were to be signed.

I remember reading about that, it kinda sounded more like a bonus feature (to me) than a standalone, but I would buy it in whatever way they try to sell it. Maybe that's what's going on the "Martin" disc?
