There ya go, an opinion. I agree. Of course others will not, as is their right.
Since there’s no way to accurately quantify what goes into being a “classic” it’s just all opinion. Which is part of fun of art, at least for me. I can label any piece of art however I so choose and so can you and so can all the Twilight fans.

Well, when all of your favorite films fall into one genre, I'd say it's time to branch out a little. Watch a musical, or a documentary, or a drama, or a western... There are a lot of movies out there. It's like people whose favorite foods are peanut butter and jelly and McDonalds Big Macs... That's fine when you're a kid. It's expected even. But at some point when you grow up, it's a good idea to learn to develop a taste for more.

Of course if you make a conscious choice to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for your whole life, that is your right... just don't try to define what "classic cuisine" is because you just don't have the frame of reference to make an informed decision on that.

I would consider Dawn of the Dead a classic because it is probably the most important film in its sub genre. Like Night of the Living Dead, it contains subtext that most films of its kind don't have. It is a LOT more than just a zombie gore film. It has something to say about society. The budget is low and the acting isn't great, but it is brilliantly directed. I would say that Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a classic too. No one has to *like* classic films. But there are objective reasons to argue that Dawn of the Dead is a classic film.

I remember when My Dinner With Andre was first released, a lot of people were hailing it as an instant classic. I looked at it and saw a static film with way too much dialogue. As time passed, it faded away and not many people think of it as a classic any more. That said, everyone says Last Year at Marienbad is a classic film, and for the life of me, I can't see why.

Films aren't just passive viewing for me. I make them, so I have to analyze them and figure out how they work.

In my opinion the classic label can be seen as something continually being discovered by younger generations and championed by them. Much like music, if it transcends generations its most likely will be considered a classic, hence Dawn of the Dead is.

Does anybody know where is the best place to get the new blu ray release in October it's supposedly Region free for most discs at least the movie and most extras. However it has a pre order on Zavvi website but I've heard they are a scam anybody know if Zavvi is worth it to order from there or where would you recommend?

The correct grammar is "Then that food analogy works even less."

Actually, his food analogy works very well.

I have no experience with Zavvi, but I can tell you that all of the Blu-ray discs are confirmed Region B.

The problem with Zavvi is, unlike with Amazon UK, if you have a problem- like something arriving damaged or missing- they are a royal PITA to get it straightened out.
Also their packaging isn't always the best.

The Bd set will be locked to Region B, while the UHD set will be region free.

Deep Discount has this for preorder in the US. It's about the same price that Diabolik had it for. You can use a 15% off coupon the next time one comes around to drop the price further, though you will get charged tax and possibly shipping as it's a boxed set.
