If we're talking about 4K, both of their listings have been removed. Those orders will probably be canceled as well.

diabolik if I remember correctly only allowed so many pre-orders and you had a small limited window to do so. It can stand to reason that may be why they no longer have a listing. I'm pretty sure I'll know soon if that holds with my preorder.

I know Diabolik was more expensive, but I also know how incredible their packaging is. When it comes to collecting a limited release arriving damaged hurts.

Is wrote about this in the International thread, but I don't trust Zavvi. Diabolik had their pre-orders open for a very limited time and were honest about the limited stock. How is Zavvi still selling these sets 4 months later?

Diabolikdvd flat-out stated that they were allotted a specific number of units from Second Sight, and once they had the pre-orders for that number, they removed the listing from their site. Anybody who ordered from them will be fine.

I know it's a limited edition but I don't believe there has been an actual limit set by Second Sight as to how many will be produced.

Zavvi are a UK retailer
Zavvi USA/Germany/France/Spain/Italy/Australia are just language/currency variants of Zavvi UK website
When you order Blu-ray/DVD from Zavvi USA you still ordering from Zavvi UK and Blu-ray items are UK/Ireland releases and are still shipped from zavvi warehouse in UK and Guernsey
Both 4K and Blu-ray editions are still available to pre order with multiple UK retailers Second Sight/Zavvi/Amazon/HMV etc

DiabolikDVD are a USA retailer that has to import from second sight

How can you guarantee that? They don't have the units yet. They could just change their mind and not send them. It's not like Diabolik already has them..

If you try and place the blu-ray edition in your cart with a US address, it lets you. If you try and add the 4K version, it won't let you checkout and says you need to change your address.

The issues seem to only be with the 4K versions not being allowed to be sold/shipped to the US.

Criterion would be a kick in the Nards for UHD buyers who haven't been able or don't want to import, unless of course it happens and ends up being their first UHD. Which on paper sounds like it'd be a thing that'd happen but the same could be said of so many other titles they didn't get their feet wet on.

I don't think a US release is happening from anybody. If the stories about a US company negotiating for a year and agreeing to Rubinstein's price only to see him kill the deal days before signing are true, why would any US company try to deal with him?

Because Diabolikdvd has a relationship with Second Sight and were guaranteed a certain number of units, that's why. There has been nothing from them re: this title suddenly not being available to the people who pre-ordered it while they had it up.

Huh. I've got the 4K version in my cart on the us.zavvi and regular zavvi UK sites and both let me get to the Submit My Order page with no issue.
