Doesn't make sense to me since Martin is also being held hostage at this point to.

I chalk it up as Rub is a d-bag. And I guess North American labels don't wanna compete with the Second Sight version, which is a shame. I would still love for both Dawn and Martin to get the true local love they deserve. I mean come on...it's Dawn of the Dead. It's one of the most seminal zombie movies ever.

The European rights are a whole different thing. He doesn't own the rights there solely. Guessing that making some money from US cut OS better than nothing. Doubt that stupid money was paid.

With the Second Sight release of 'Dawn' and the Criterion release of 'Night', I'd prefer Arrow or Shout spend the energy re-issuing a definitive version of 'Day' instead.

Honestly I want to see Second Sight apply their restoration magic to Day of the Dead if possible.

I'd buy a region A release in a heartbeat, even if it's not as good as the Second Sight release, simply because it's Dawn of the Dead!

Very good. I've ordered a few times now and they come in a box, bubble wrapped, with packaging paper within as well. Don't worry.

Uh, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, as much as I want the theatrical cuts of the Star Wars OT, I would never wish death upon George Lucas.

Thanks for the heads up!

I ordered a copy of the standard 4K from them for $51.XX (shipped Priority) after a 10% off discount code I found.

Hopefully it gets here without any damage.

Um, yeah. I mean, my feelings about what Lucas has done with the movies notwithstanding, I really wish him goodwill. Anyone who donates $4 billion to charity sounds like a stand-up person.

Bottom line - and this will upset many people - it's just a movie. I've loved movies my entire life, I go see them, I buy them, I talk about them...but I can't imagine my life being ruined because a movie I enjoy has been tampered with, or isn't easily available, or the transfer on the Blu-ray has issues. And to wish someone ill because they own the rights and this is their responsibility...I just don't get it.

I'm probably just gonna break down early next year and buy the Second Sight UHD.

And then the rights will get straightened out in America.

If you're UHD capable now then what's stopping you? I really don't see how a US label will be able to improve on what is undeniably a perfect release.

Because I have the rest of the year's purchases planned out already, and they don't include it.

I have been wanting to watch this movie for years. Years! And still I can't. I'm not paying these high prices for it.

Forty or fifty dollars to import the 4K disc is too much for a movie you've been waiting Years! for? I paid $95 for the luxe set with the three soundtrack CDs, book and novelization, and it was worth every penny.
