Yeah, I also have the Blu-ray of that one. Not sure what the deal is, as it was with the Weinsteins, but not part of Miramax deal with Paramount? I wonder what's up.

Harvey Weinstein personally owns the movie. Not Miramax. That is most likely why it's not with Paramount now. I think. Either way it's a bad situation.

I believe there's one other film that's in the same boat, but I can't remember which other one they sold to themselves off hand. |

I'm sure Smith has made some inquirey about it getting out again on DVD,BD,4K,streaming etc. but with Harvey sitting in jail, I don't think a deal is forthcoming anytime soon. |

I recall reading something about Harvey offering Dogma back to Smith, but under terms that Kevin refused. That was before the legal trouble for Harvey even started. |

Anyway, Dawn of the Dead is a great film and it's a crying shame that Richard Rubinstein has the rights to it because he's clearly more interested in getting paid than he is in doing right by the film or George Romero. Last edited by mad_max2000; 02-13-2022 at 12:53 AM. |

IIRC, Disney was very upset that Miramax released "Priest", so when "Kids" got an NC-17, Disney wasn't happy about it so the Weinsteins bought it themselves. Is that the other one you're thinking of?
