And on his birthday, they have announced the new owners of the Monroeville Mall....
It was purchased by Walmart, and it sounds like they have the intent to "Revamp" (aka demolish) the mall, or sections of it. If anyone here had any thoughts of visiting the mall. I HIGHLY suggest attending this years Living Dead Weekend in June and taking the mall tour. This is most likely the last time it'll happen with the mall as it currently stands. https://www.wtae.com/article/monroev...-sold/63663518 |

Bump. Apologies.
While this isn't about Rubinstein finding a heart to get this film released in other markets and a nice, new Region A release, this is a bump featuring Ken Foree. Ken rules. Horror Icon Ken Foree Shares Plea to Preserve ‘Dawn of the Dead’ Filming Location Quote:

There's a shopping centre in my town that I recall being built in the early 80's. Now it practically empty, it has two shops, a cafe and a soon-to-close bank left in it. Apparently it's in part due to ludicrous business tax rates. But we've lost music store and video/dvd stores amongst other things. One in Birmingham UK has gone, and a gigantic Primark store occupies the entire mall site now instead. Apparently some American malls are being repurposed for apartments instead of knocking them down. Seems a better option to me. Monroeville Mall needs to be saved somehow. |

That sucks. It should be on the National Register of Historical Places (has any filming location made that though?).
Also, what are the odds of Rupinstein selling the rights to his catalog to a major studio (Lionsgate? MGM? Paramount? Universal? Sony?). That's probably the best possible solution for those films to be released in NA again. |

To this day, I'm convinced no one will do it. Aside from those who don't like importing, the fantastic 4 disc set has been cheap and readily available for years now. I'm betting most labels would look at that and see that the well is dry, unless they pulled some insane extras.

Shout are backed by a multi-billion dollar company now, so they could afford to pay Rubinstein's hostage prices now.
