I wish I could see how much better the PQ when compared to the U.S. disc. Is it that much of a difference?

It's pretty much the same as the OOP Arrow transfer from what I've read

I still think I prefer the AB disc due to the more accurate colors.

I couldn't say which is more accurate, though I do feel the AB's colors are bit off to me. It seems to lean red, and the reds appear more orange. Everything seems just a bit too bright. Perhaps this was the intended look though.

You can see some of what I'm saying with the gush of blood in this shot. The sheen of the blood appears to have been wiped away in the AB disc. The zombie fleshtones are less grey, and have a tinge of orange to them too.

Yeah, and I don't like the DNR on the AB disc. I might go ahead and order the AU disc as you can't beat the price.

It's worth it as a stop gap for that kinda money, and it's got an exclusive extra (the conversation with Romero from the MIFF festival) too.

Yeah, it's a good price. I believe it has a few extras not on the AB disc too.

I think DD and others are selling the single disc version without the DVD. I think the one with the DVD is OOP

I think the colors look a little better in it, but it's not so much about it being better than it is about it being available and affordable, since both the Arrow and AB releases are OOP

Tharp exactly what 8 want to know too, since I'm late to the game I wanna try and get the best option avaliable.
Is the Umbrella single disc just one cut of the movie? I thought I read the dvd offers differant cuts?

One of the customer reviews for Dawn says that the Umbrella Blu only has 2.0 stereo and not the 5.1 DTS listed on the back. The guy also says the PQ is no better than DVD, so he's probably trolling....

Can anyone confirm?

The person who wrote that is a moron. There is no audio menu option on the discs main menu screen, so to change it from LPCM 2.0 to DTS-HD MA 5.1, you have to press the audio button on your BD players remote once the film starts to display the available audio options, and select it.

Figured, thanks.

One more thing I noticed about the Umbrella Blu....it says there's a commentary from Richard Rubentein? I know he did a commentary for the extended cut on the Ultimate Edition DVD, but not for the Theatrical version that's listed as the only version on the Umbrella release...

Unless he did a new commentary...

I believe the commentary he did for the extended version was edited down for the Arrow release, and that's been carried over to the Umbrella version which isn't a surprise considering it's also using the exact same video encode as the Arrow.
