Arrow master is much better than the Japanese master. JP looks so "flat" in comparison, and the colors are wrong (exported in the wrong color setting!). Haven't had a chance to look at the AB BD, not comfortable plopping $30+ at this point.

Last one has much more definition to the text in the Arrow, and it doesn't have nearly as much macroblocking as JP

I strongly disagree, in as much as the ghosting ruins the Arrow/AB transfers, among all the other issues.

The RGB offset can be accounted for. only on some other planet is the JP disc not the best around right now.

I ordered the Ultimate Edition from a third party seller on Amazon yesterday for $14. You can find it cheaper than $30 every once in a while.

I haven't seen this movie since I had it on VHS.

No one has a licencing agreement at the moment in either the US or UK, the owners are asking too much. Arrow have said they would have re-licensed it if they could have but it was impossible for them to do so.

I've seen it that low on eBay, but that's before shipping. If you find it somewhere for $8 including shipping, let me know -- I'll pick it up for that price.

Ordered one from fishpond for $15 CAD all in. I'm happy with that unless there is a better price... I can always cancel.

Wonder if the fact that there isn't a disc in print right now has anything to do with that 3-D conversion that has been in the works for years now.

It is my assumption that the 3D conversion (especially the insane cost involved) has led to all sorts of issues. The 3D version was supposed to be in theaters this past October. There hasn't been a word about it in over a year.

Yes. The reviews have been less than favorable (terrible print and even worse 3D effect). It also isn't an official release.

Does anyone know what cut of the film is on this BD?

I've seen it for dirt cheap on Amazon U.K. and I'm tempted to pick it up.
