Thing is, even given all that - it's still Snyder's strongest work to date.

And I think the opening scene and credits are really strong. It's a slick, well edited, efficient example of world building and info dumping. Those first 15 minutes are stellar.

The rest of the movie. . . . well, not so much.

Rubinstein can't touch this release. Hopefully he's licking his 3D wounds as I write.

His strongest work to date is hardly a compliment.

What wounds? I read that the European theatrical release did quite well.

Rubinstein did a 3D conversion of the US cut and I hope that "his" version tanks. What does this have to do with the Euro version?

I believe he means the 3D version was successful in Europe in terms of feedback regarding the conversion.

This article says that the Oct 8 screening in the USA was only the second screening in the world.

http://beyondfest.com/?portfolio=dawn-of-the-dead-3d

This articles says that the world premier for the 3D conversion was in Busan
https://www.dawnofthedead.co.uk/dawn...-3d-is-coming/

Again, I fail to see what this has to do with Argento's (inferior) Euro cut and European screenings, and as far as "wounds" go, we haven't seen much of Rubinstein's version since it's premier in 2013 until now.

I really like yours, Francisco. However, based upon the winners, it seems they were looking for something more abstract.

I struggled harder to get through that film than the chick who waded through barbed wire in Suspiria.

I could have sworn I read that the 3D version had premiered in France a year or two ago. My memory is shot. Damn old age.

I didn't know he only controlled one cut.

A while ago, there were a bunch of posts saying "better pick it up quick while it's still cheap from other sources."

I like the elevator postcard, but the hand one is a total rip off of the Olly Moss Evil Dead print. Ridiculously blatant.

the contest had a very abstract direction for Refn .... at the start I was thinking on more "Real Dawn" option for the fan to make the postcard, reason of my choice

It'd be fun to see a professional attempt at the Final Cut

Well, ****. I guess this film is hard to get now unless you want to pay 50 bucks.
