The 3 cuts were released a bit over a year ago on BD in Japan. I have the 3BD JP set and the OOP Arrow. The JP theatrical looked noticeably better than the Arrow BD, and the 2 other cuts were similarly good. Compared to Arrow, there aren't a ton of english friendly extras, but it has a few not on Arrow's. There have been a couple of people very upset over it having different color timing from the Anchor Bay DVD, but I doubt that is the sole definitive presentation for the film.
If there is some ultimate edition coming from the US/UK, you may wanna hold off. But the yen is really weak now, which takes some of the sting out of the price, and the 3 BDs are available seperately now too.

Amazon.co.jp is probably the cheapest:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/『ゾンビ...wn+of+the+dead

CDJapan is probably easier to order from, with exceptional service, but more expensive:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/BBXF-9409

I don't know of any other places offhand myself.

I would love to see the longer version at 141 min, cause a LOT of the gore was cut out along with some interesting pieces here and there.
Ultimatly my biggest wish would be the 156 min "extended mall edition",NOTHING beats that version!
I mean, some movies if extended seem to drag on...NOT with DOTD,it fits in perfectly and is composed of x3 versions.
This is only on dvd available but in really good quality,a blu of this....a wet dream...
A lot of gore was NOT cut out of the theatrical version. The Cannes cut just includes extra character development. Where did you get your info?

I know Argento's cut has a few extra gore shots(as well as the mall edition), but I thought one or two of these made it into the extended version as well, I maybe wrong. Is the zombie getting pulled in from the doors and then getting shot in the head while on the floor in the US theatrical cut.

Has an English friendly release of the Krekel "ultimate final cut" ever been released?

I recently got the Argento cut in HD from Germany . Pricey but nice. The UK Arrow release only has that in SD.

I find the longer incomplete edit version to be quite dull.
Romero's editing and completion of the music tracks make such a difference

US theatrical will always be my 'go to' version but I dig the Argento cut too, it's more like an action film and any excuse for more of that awesome music by Goblin is alright by me.

Yep, that's in the theatrical. I know the Argento cut is missing gore. It doesn't have the zombie getting the top of his head lopped off my the Helicopter. As far as I know, the theatrical version has all the gore. There might be some minor stuff included in the Cannes cut though. Maybe at the end when all hell breaks loose.

I have the extended Mall hours cut so I really should give it a watch.

The sad thing is, most people who watched The Walking Dead last night did not get this reference:

I almost shouted "Machete Zombie!" at my TV.

I really need to introduce my Walking Dead-watching family to the Romero movies.

I got my hopes up that we would be getting a good HD Argento cut. Dang!

There is one in Japan but it's around $55 or so shipped from CDJapan.
I just wish all the various cuts were scanned in 4K, maybe the JP release is?, and a multi-disc Blu-ray set released with a nice booklet to boot.
