Thanks! Was just about to place an order. Glad I came here first.

It's too bad SAE's third-party Amazon marketplace store doesn't get preferred placement on Amazon. Most often a third-party reseller that has drastically marked up these titles gets the front page spotlight since they are using Amazon Fulfillment services.
Not sure if you know who maintains the blu-ray.com front page, but we would strongly suggest they take those links down, as readers who take advantage of them are very probably going to be disappointed.

Hey guys ,

The Site Manager and the developers have been notified regarding the Amazon listings. I am sure this will be resolved very soon.

I've gone through and removed the Amazon data on all of the new releases. You may need to clear your cache and/or refresh your browser to see the changes.

I watched Summer Lovers last night. The transfer is really good, and I appreciated the extras like "The Making of Summer Lovers" and the screen tests (
[Show spoiler]Patrick Swayze!
). The movie is mostly fluff but it looks great (both the actors and the locations). The cover art is a little risque but it's definitely appropriate for this movie.

In the past, Screen Archives has sold TT titles on Amazon at a price of $31.25....it would be strange for Amazon to assume they could sell them too...

SAE still does sell on Amazon.

I noticed Amazon priced all of their listings at $34.95 where as the cheapest shipping option on Amazon for third-party sellers is $3.99 unless they buy into the Amazon Fulfillment services. That puts the SAE listing slightly above the Amazon listing at $35.24. Factor in that Amazon Prime customers also get "free" 2-day shipping and I'd bet Amazon's pricing was no coincidence.

I'd love to see SAE join Amazon Fulfillment services just for the sole reason of getting front page exposure on Amazon and besting all of those high priced resellers.

But for those already in the know it's a no brainer to purchase from either Twilight Time or SAE as both options are cheaper than SAE's third-party Amazon marketplace listings.

You might invest in a product called "Goof-Off". I bought a bottle at a ubiquitous mass volume retailer, and a little squirt on a paper towel will remove stickers, labels, glue residue ... and little pieces of plastic that stick to blu-ray spines.

Yes ...

I've used a similar sounding product called "Goo Gone" to remove stickers from cover art, but I imagine it works in the same way as you describe. I soak a Q-tip with the stuff, and then gently rub the soaked Q-tip over the back of the sticker (basically soaking the sticker) until the adhesive softens up enough that I can eventually pull the sticker off without damaging the artwork.

Be careful with that stuff though, its petroleum based and it will damage the artwork if you get it on there, if you get any on your fingers and touch the artwork it'll damage the inks and start to rub them off. After you've removed whatever it is you used it on, best to use something less abrasive to clean off any traces. Frankly when it comes to the little bits of cellophane that have been heat sealed to the case, I don't know how effective goo gone will be and if it bothers you that much, you'd be better just to switch to a new case.

I haven't used it a lot, but when I have, it has been okay. And I do try to dry off any remaining residue after the sticker comes off. I've never tried it on the little bits of cellophane, so not sure if it works that way.

Literally half the BDs I buy have their cellophane stuck to the spine in some capacity. It's just a side-effect of the mass production of such things. If it's really, really bad I replace the case with ones I get off ebay. Viva Elite cases can be had on ebay for pretty cheap.

Mine too and for somebody who can get occassionally quite anal about little annoyances, the bits of cellophane stuck to the case don't bother me at all suprisingly enough.

Per TT, less than 10% of the copies for JTTCOTE remain.

Damn! This is a title that I had some interest in, just not at the normal asking price.

Hopefully an overseas 4k remastered release gets announced.

Thanks for this! Ordered along with Birdman of Alcatraz and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Didn't want to miss out on this one and was procrastinating. The Canadian dollar sucks right now so this haul cost me $134.95 for 3 movies

this. i have been careful with it, but i have had a few minor "issues" when i was not as careful as i thought was being.

my strategy as well. i like the viva elites more than other cases and with some random damage via shipment, stuck cellophane and the like i just prefer to put them in a new one if needed.

haha, i am the same, but for some reason, this one still gets to me. i am glad at least your "condition" gives you a pass on this one

I have updated the OP with the latest low quantity information....less than 500 copies of Journey to the Center of the Earth remaining out of the original 5000.

No update news on The First Men in the Moon other than the announcement from earlier in the summer that fewer than 1500 remain out of 5000.

Also using this as an excuse to post two recent film inspired art print acquisitions for my movie room (two of TT's finest):

From the incomparable Belgian artist Laurent Durieux:

[Show spoiler]

And from the talented team of Stan and Vince:
