I don't necessarily want or desire it specifically from TT for the reasons I gave earlier concerning TBF release, but I do very much hope either they or Kino release The Brink's Job, which is a late 70's Freidkin that is beautifully crafted and incomprehensibly, perpetually overlooked.

Would love to see FM too, but I have to wonder if that one has any music licensing issues.

Considering I dropped $20 on the DVD-R for the Big Fix a couple years back, I probably shouldn't begrudge TT being the ones to release it. I AM very happy to see it coming. It's a modest, interesting little character driven hybrid detective movie.

Yes, it looks like sweep, all right.

With The River's Edge, they'd knocked another one of Fox's Studio Classics DVDs off the list. Only 9 (out of 41) to go for Blu-ray.

Had a pleasant surprise today. I received my sale order, and was at first a bit confused, and then pleased, to note that there were two extra of the clear Viva Elite cases included. Two of the titles I ordered -- Black Widow and Short Night of Glass Dolls -- had blue VE Eco cases. Either SAE or TT pre-emptively decided to include replacements for those two.

On the down side, the case for The Last Hurrah was cracked, and the cover sheet torn...I'll have to see if TT will send a fresh copy of that, even though I ordered from SAE.

Is it truly a universal movie? I have a Twilight Time release that’s Warner brothers but when you start the blu Ray it has the United attest home video logo.

Thank you. Do you mean the case itself? I was talking about just the cover sheet, but if they'll send both, that's great.

They have sent both, but contact them and see what they say. They might just send a new copy.

If you're referring to Moby Dick, that was distributed by Warner Bros. back in 1956, but the rights eventually ended up with MGM/UA.

The Big Fix is definitely a Universal made and distributed film. January's release, Yanks was distributed by United Artists in the UK, but by Universal in the US, so TT is sure to be licensing it from the latter. December's Anne of the Thousand Days and February's Talk Radio would also have been licensed from Universal.

"The Big Fix" and "The Quiller Memorandum" are the ones that interest me the most.

I haven't seen the film yet myself but the soundtrack is killer; Steely Dan's "FM (Reprise)" is the perfect night driving track.

THE WHOLE TOWN’S TALKING (1935) BLU-RAY - March 19th

THE RIVER’S EDGE (1957) BLU-RAY - March 19th

THE QUILLER MEMORANDUM (1966) BLU-RAY - March 19th (Brand New 4K Transfer)

THE BIG FIX (1978) BLU-RAY - March 19th

Holy heck! This entire line-up is amazing! Especially THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING and THE QUILLER MEMORANDUM!! I definitely will buy the former to encourage more releases from the 1930's.

It was an independent film distributed by Warners. The rights passed to the Samuel Goldwyn Company and then MGM/UA for home video.

Thinking of TT's deal with Universal...do I dare hope that they can snag some of the Preston Sturges titles that Criterion doesn't have the rights to?

The ones I'm thinking of are:

The Great McGinty
Christmas in July
Hail the Conquering Hero
The Great Moment

(Criterion still has the rights to The Lady Eve and Unfaithfully Yours though they haven't released either one on BD yet.)

Kino is releasing The Great McGinty in 2019 so I suspect the remaining non-CC Sturges may be with them too.

THE RIVER’S EDGE (1957) for me, as I always love a wound up Ray Milland. Just wish somebody could get the rights figured out to release Alias Nick Beal too!

Any chance for TT to release Mary Queen of Scots (Redgrave/Jackson) or The Four Seasons
(1981) Alda/Burnett/Moreno?

Would you think Beat the Devil is a title to buy quickly or would it be safe to wait for a sale?

It'll probably be a safe wait for a sale.
