yes I know, anything negative about TT MUST be silenced

but the real reason is simply because they haven't released anything I've been interested in for quite some time that's all...although there is a few coming up

I totally agree, the selection over the last year or two has been mediocre at best. Hopefully some films like Eye of the Needle will bring it back to life for me at least.

At the time of Christine's release, Twilight Time's contracts with the studios -- specifically their point of paying the entire licensing fee up front -- meant that they really couldn't afford to contract for more than 3000 copies. And that's proven true. While there were surprise sell-outs like Christine and Fright Night, the majority of their releases take a long time to sell out, which ties their money up.

They had planned to do a reissue of Christine -- which probably would've been one of their 5000-copy press runs -- but Sony decided that they wanted to release it themselves. Twilight Time probably could've made a stink, but they would've alienated Sony in the process, which would've made for a bad business decision for them.

I'm sure it sucks that the title you want most you can't get for a reasonable amount of money, but, ya know, that's life. I feel bad that I can't get a copy of their release of The Egyptian for a reasonable price, since it was sold out about a year before I started buying TT releases. But I don't wallow in despair because of it.

Complaining about it over and over (and over and over) again isn't going to help. Sack up, and deal with it.

Are we going to get new announcements next Saturday or will it be on 4/9? I'm hoping for that Harryhausen title they hinted at but praying it's NOT One Million Years, B.C. since we're getting that from Studio Canal in a couple of months. Here's to the 3 Worlds of Gulliver

I know how you feel there, but don't wait too long. They are both in the low quantity list with First Men being below 500. Mysterious Island is less than 1000. I ordered Mysterious on Thursday and it came in today. I was shocked how fast it was with standard shipping. Now I wait for Sense and Sensebility.

Whats' the etc? They made 5,000 run copies of 2 or 3 titles and that's it. There's no "etc" of anything else they've done, as you claim. As far as re-issuing sell-out titles, that's been a known part of hitter licensing deals form the start.

Their announcements come in 2-month batches in even-numbered months, so April.

there are over 500 copies...its not going anywhere fast! Its been sitting at under 1000 copies for 3 months. I think its safe to wait! I mean once it gets to 100 copies you will know it because that's all they will talk about! Maybe if enough people waited on a lot of these titles it might encourage them to offer up a sale.

By the way, as of a posting on their Facebook page at 5:00pm yesterday, Twilight Time said there were 25 copies left of Journey to the Center of the Earth. I'm sure there are fewer than that now, but they aren't all gone yet.

Nota bene: You can only get it at SAE, not from TT's web site.
