TT doesn't even make an effort where extras are concerned anymore.

Here are the TT release announcements for December, courtesy of the Home Theater Forum. Thanks goes to them for posting this on their site.

As always, out of respect for HTF's exclusive sneak-peak announcement window, I will not be updating the first post of this thread until TT officially announces these titles on their Facebook page sometime later today.

WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1970) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

THE HOSPITAL (1971) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

ALICE (1990) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

FOREVER AMBER (1947) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

THE L-SHAPED ROOM (1962) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

"The Hospital" is a great film, really overlooked. Exciting announcement. "Alice" is lesser Woody, but not bad. Definitely in for those two.

I'm kind of surprised Twilight Time hasn't really been releasing much in the way of horror films in the last three years. I've purchased three Blu-ray releases from them. Christine (1983) and Body Double (1984), both in 2013, and The Blob (1988) in 2014. All three of those releases sold out extremely fast, so I kind of figured they might want to release other horror titles in the Sony back catalog such as When a Stranger Calls (1979), Happy Birthday to Me (1980) and others, but for three years...nothing.

Granted, I have the Mill Creek double feature BD of Stranger and Birthday as well as the UK Indicator BD of Birthday, but Twilight Time seems to have cooled with 1980s horror.

Gotta keep my fingers crossed on how good FOREVER AMBER will look. The last time I saw it, which was on the Fox Movie Channel, which is HD, it looked muddy.

In for L-Shaped Room, Forever Amber and Alice (which, contrary to popular opinion, I consider pure magic and one of Woody's best).

IIRC, Redman specifically said in one of his interviews that thru learned their setup wasn't the best for horror films because of the extraordinary fan demands strained the limited issue model. He said they were happy to let other labels such as Shout pick those titles up in the future because that's a better match.

That's too bad since I'd prefer TT to release them and Shout doesn't work with Sony.

FOREVER AMBER (1947) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

THE L-SHAPED ROOM (1962) BLU-RAY - Dec 19th

Wow! The Hospital! I've been eagerly awaiting some good label to put this out.

A completely savage and accurate satire of the American health system which still is very relevant today. (I just retired from a career as a flight nurse, and, unfortunately, a lot of what this film has to say still occurs in our overcrowded health system.)

Fantastic cast with gorgeous Diana Rigg, also Richard Dysart, Roberts Blossom, and a powerful Oscar deserving performance by George C. Scott!

Man this one is a stone cold classic! One of my most anticipated Blu Ray releases!

Thanking the Blu Ray gods that this is being released by TT. Was really hoping for Arrow or Criterion, but as long as it's not by someone like Mill Creek or 101 Films, and the transfer is excellent, then I'm a happy collector.

I bought a double feature disc with "The Hospital" a few months ago. I wound up really disappointed, as it was listed as two discs in a single case, but was in fact two movies on a single disc. Now I'm glad I never got around to paying a premium for the DVD, so I won't feel bad paying a premium for a Twilight Time blu.

FOREVER AMBER may be day 1 for me, THE HOSPITAL when it's at $20, and maybe ALICE when it's at $15.

I was tossing up whether to buy that DVD - the last one of those MGM doubles I picked up was non-anamorphic - or buy the film digitally this week, so for once it was perfect timing for me: usually these kind of titles get announced after I've pulled the trigger on an inferior version.

Any fan of Paddy Chayefsky's other work should jump on The Hospital. Think of Network, but skewering the health care system instead of the media. Oscar for best screenplay, and a great cast. I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

I just checked the case, and as it doesn't say "enhanced for widescreen TVs", I suspect you're correct, though it doesn't actually specify anything about aspect ratio at all. Anyway, I might still watch "The Bank Shot" out of curiosity, 'cause I like Donald Westlake, but I'm gonna hold off on "The Hospital" until I get the Blu. I've waited this long, so obviously there's no rush.

Very handsome cover with great supplements. Have never seen it but this one sounds like a keeper, just threw it in my wish-list for the future.

Wonder if TT will put up any of their horror titles up for a Halloween sale? Still need to pick up Scream and Scream Again and Count Yorga. If Theatre of Blood is still around Ill pick that one up too.
